Christmas has become a cultural battlefield in recent years.
Religious Americans keep watching sacred traditions get mocked and degraded.
And Florida AG James Uthmeier made one demand about Christmas that left this city council stunned.
Christmas arrived in Pensacola two days early this year, and not in a good way.
Attorney General James Uthmeier dropped a bomb on the city council that has the whole town talking.
The stage name alone tells you everything you need to know about where this story's headed.
AG targets drag show scheduled two days before Christmas
Florida's new Attorney General isn't backing down from a fight over Christmas itself.
James Uthmeier sent a letter to Pensacola City Council demanding they cancel "A Drag Queen Christmas" scheduled for December 23 at the publicly-owned Saenger Theatre.¹
The show markets itself as part of the "Naughty Tour" and features performers whose stage names mock Christianity.
"Two days before Christmas, Pensacola will host a demonic, sexually explicit drag show at the city-owned Saenger Theatre," Uthmeier wrote.²

One performer goes by "Trinity 'The Tuck' Taylor" – a direct mockery of the fundamental Christian doctrine of the Trinity.
Another bills himself as the "Demon Queen of Seattle" who specializes in "demon inspired, kink-positive" costumes.
A third performer dresses as the devil to make "satanic imagery glamorous and beautiful," according to promotional materials.
The show is scheduled just feet from Pensacola's family-friendly Winterfest, where kids will be taking pictures with Santa.
Legal authority gives city power to act
Uthmeier made clear the city council has both the legal authority and moral duty to shut this down.
The Saenger Theatre's management contract with Legends Global includes a provision allowing the city to "review and approve the kind and quality of events."³
City officials previously stated they would cancel any event "injurious to the public health, safety, or general welfare of the community."
Uthmeier argued this show obviously meets that standard.
"Pensacola shouldn't platform obscenities that denigrate its residents and expose kids to harmful content," the Attorney General said. "They should cancel the event."⁴
The timing couldn't be worse for Pensacola officials caught between religious constituents and left-wing activists.
This isn't the first Christmas drag show causing controversy.
Similar events in Colorado featured what organizers admitted were "religious satire" and "socio-political commentary."

One Fort Collins venue hosting a drag Christmas show actually advertised "religious satire" as a selling point, telling audiences "this isn't your grandma's Nativity Pageant."
The Left has been targeting Christmas for years.
They went after "Baby, It's Cold Outside" as problematic.
They demanded "Baby Shark Christmas" replace traditional carols.
Now they're staging demonic mockery of Christianity itself at taxpayer-funded venues.
Florida previously saw battles over drag shows after Governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation punishing venues that allowed children into "adult live performances."
A federal judge blocked that law's enforcement, but the controversy revealed deep divisions over exposing kids to sexual content.
Religious freedom isn't religious mockery
Uthmeier warned the city faces potential legal liability if they let this proceed.
"While the First Amendment safeguards freedom of expression, it does not require a city to platform and endorse disgusting, obscene content that denigrates its residents' religious beliefs," Uthmeier stated.⁵
The Attorney General noted performers exposing themselves to children near the venue could subject the city to obscenity charges.
He also raised concerns about religious discrimination claims from residents whose tax dollars fund a venue mocking their faith.
Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves dodged reporters, issuing only a brief statement acknowledging receipt of Uthmeier's letter.
The city's silence speaks volumes. They know this is political dynamite no matter which way they go.
Cancel the show and face lawsuits from left-wing activists claiming censorship.
Let it proceed and face outrage from parents and religious voters who elected them.
Here's what the city council doesn't want to talk about: the same venues hosting these anti-Christian drag shows wouldn't dare book performers mocking Islam or Judaism with "satanic" and "demonic" themes.
They know which religions they can attack without consequences.
The show is also scheduled for Hard Rock Live in Orlando on December 21 and the Mahaffey Theater in Tampa on December 22.
Uthmeier's office didn't confirm whether he's demanding those shows get cancelled too, but the pressure is mounting.
The pattern is crystal clear.
Every December brings a new assault on Christmas traditions from the radical Left.
First it was "Happy Holidays" replacing "Merry Christmas."
Then corporations banned Nativity scenes as offensive. Now taxpayer-funded venues host drag queens mocking the Trinity while dressed as demons.
This isn't about artistic expression or free speech.
It's a coordinated campaign to drive Christianity out of public life while forcing Americans to subsidize mockery of their faith.
Uthmeier understands what's at stake.
He spent six years as Governor DeSantis's right-hand man fighting woke corporations and leftist overreach.
As chief of staff, he helped orchestrate some of Florida's most controversial conservative victories, including battles against Disney and fights over education.
DeSantis called him a "bulldog" who "doesn't shy away from a difficult fight."
That reputation is being put to the test.
Uthmeier took office in February as one of the youngest attorneys general in Florida history.
Critics already tried painting him as inexperienced.

A federal judge even held him in contempt over immigration enforcement.
But the Attorney General isn't backing down.
He knows religious conservatives expect him to defend their values, not cave to woke mobs.
The timing of this fight matters.
We're less than a year into President Trump's second term, and conservatives nationwide are watching to see if Republican officials will actually fight for traditional values.
Will Pensacola's city council have the backbone to stand up for the Christian families who elected them?
Or will they fold to pressure from activists who hate everything Christmas represents?
Florida voters will be watching.
