The Left spent years tearing down statues of America's founders.
Now Ron DeSantis just put them back – and he's not stopping.
But Ron DeSantis did something in the only county in America named Liberty that no Florida governor had done in 76 years – and what he moved there tells you everything about the difference between Florida and every other state right now.
Florida Brings Back a Symbol That Traveled Every Corner of This Country
The story starts in 1950.
America had just survived World War II and the Treasury Department needed to sell savings bonds.
Their secret weapon was the Liberty Bell – or rather, 57 exact replicas of it, cast in France at the Paccard Bell Foundry, each weighing 2,080 pounds, each featuring the same faux crack as the original.

Those bells traveled to every state and territory on flatbed Ford trucks, stopping in over 2,500 cities.
You could walk up, buy a savings bond, and ring the Liberty Bell yourself.
At the end of the drive, the Treasury gifted each state its bell.
Florida's bell first rang in Miami, traveled the state, and was eventually accepted by Governor Fuller Warren at the Florida Capitol in Tallahassee – where it sat quietly for decades.
Until now.
DeSantis moved it to Liberty County, where it will stand permanently as a tribute to the principles that made this country worth fighting for.
"We are blessed to live in a free country," said Secretary of State Cord Byrd at the ceremony. "Today's ceremony offers a lasting reminder to future generations about the privilege inherent in our American identity."
Why Florida Is Running Laps Around Every Other State Right Now
Here's what the mainstream media won't tell you: while other states are busy arguing about which monuments to tear down, DeSantis is busy building them.

Florida has now installed statues of George Washington in Washington County, Alexander Hamilton in Hamilton County, James Madison in Madison County, James Monroe in Monroe County, Thomas Jefferson in Jefferson County, Benjamin Franklin in Franklin County, and Abraham Lincoln in The Villages – all part of a statewide initiative to honor America's founders in the Florida counties that bear their names.
That's twelve new monuments honoring America's founders and its defining ideals, all unveiled in a single year.
The Liberty Bell in Liberty County is the crown jewel.
The bell's biblical inscription – "Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the Land unto all the Inhabitants thereof" – was carved into it when the bell was first cast for the Pennsylvania State House, the building where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were debated into existence.
Those words aren't abstract.
They were a direct challenge to every politician who tried to concentrate power at the expense of the people who elected them.
DeSantis putting that bell in Liberty County – on the eve of America's 250th birthday – is a statement.
While Other States Argue About Monuments Florida Just Keeps Building Them
While Washington spends billions on bureaucratic "celebrations" that barely mention America's founders, one governor quietly built a monument campaign that will outlast every press release and government task force in existence.
The 1950 bells were created because a generation that survived the Depression and World War II understood that freedom isn't free and liberty isn't guaranteed.

They bought bonds to fund their own defense and rang a bell that proclaimed their independence.
DeSantis understands that same lesson – the one the Left has spent fifty years trying to erase from public school curricula, from statues in public squares, from the national conversation itself.
America turns 250 years old in two days.
Every other state is throwing a party.
Florida spent the whole year making sure the next generation knows what the party is actually for – and who bled to make it happen.
