The Left tried to block Ron DeSantis from preventing young children from attending drag shows.
But a federal appeals court just upheld Florida's law banning children from drag shows.
And now Democrat Senate candidate Angie Nixon must explain to voters why she takes her children to drag shows.
What Angie Nixon Actually Said
Nixon – a Democratic Socialist who shocked the political world by beating Alexander Vindman despite being outspent more than 16-to-1 – sat down with the "Legal AF" podcast and made her case for children at drag shows.
Her words: "I've taken my children to drag shows, and it's fun! It's entertainment. It's wholesome entertainment and there's nothing wrong."
She said there is "no sexualization" at drag shows.
She said it's just "people dressing up and singing and performing."
She is running for the United States Senate.

Jaimee Michell, founder of Gays Against Groomers, called Nixon's comments "a lie, and a dangerous one."
"There is no shortage of video of drag performers in pasties, thongs, or barely-there costumes grinding, twerking, and simulating sex in front of children – including babies and toddlers – while those kids are encouraged to stuff dollar bills into their outfits," Michell told Fox News Digital.
Then she delivered the line Nixon can't outrun.
"That is not 'people dressing up and singing.' That is adult sexual performance," she said.
The Court Already Answered This Question
On August 4 – two weeks before Nixon won her primary – the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 8-5 to uphold Florida's Protection of Children Act.
The law bans venues from admitting minors to performances that depict or simulate nudity, sexual conduct, or lewd acts.
Trump-appointed Judge Andrew Brasher wrote the majority opinion.
His conclusion: "The act is a straight forward regulation of obscenity. Preventing children from attending adult live performances obscene for them is rationally related to Florida's interest in safeguarding the well-being of minors."
That ruling came after three years of litigation – including an Orlando drag restaurant that spent years fighting Florida's right to protect children in federal court.
Florida now joins Arkansas, North Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas in actively protecting minors from adult live performances.
DeSantis put it plainly: "This shouldn't even be controversial."
It took a federal court battle to prove him right.
What Republicans Just Walked Into
Theo Wold, former assistant attorney general and former White House deputy assistant for domestic policy under President Trump, identified exactly what Nixon's comments reveal.
"Drag has always been sexualized entertainment – that's why it originated in bars and nightclubs in front of adult audiences," Wold told Fox News Digital.
Laura Ingraham said it on air: Nixon is "the best midterm news for Republicans since Graham Platner and Francesca Hong."
She's right – and here's why it matters beyond the punchline.
Nixon is a DSA member endorsed by Rashida Tlaib who just defeated a well-funded establishment candidate in a state with hundreds of thousands of Cuban and Venezuelan refugees – people who fled actual socialism and came to Florida specifically because Florida stands for something different.
The Democrat establishment saw this coming – which is exactly why the DSCC recruited Vindman: they needed a Florida Democrat who could talk military service and Ukraine without triggering the socialism alarm bells that sink Democrats in Miami-Dade every single cycle.

Nixon beat him anyway, by running as exactly what she is.
Now she faces Ashley Moody, who leads by nearly 10 points in polling averages and carries a 92% probability of winning on prediction markets.
Nixon walked into that race – and her first major headline as the Democrat Senate nominee is defending drag shows for children – after a federal court ruled those same shows are legally obscene for minors.
Florida voters who know the difference between Havana and Jacksonville are not going to need much help deciding.
