Florida Just Made It a Felony to Support This Radical Islamic Group

Oct 1, 2026

CAIR's founders sat in a room with Hamas operatives in 1933 and discussed how to deceive America.

Florida just made supporting them a felony.

And what Ron DeSantis just announced will follow CAIR into every courtroom, every campus, and every government contract they ever touch again.

CAIR's 1993 Meeting That Nobody Wants to Talk About

Here is what Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said out loud today, on camera: CAIR's founders sat with Hamas operatives in 1993 to discuss, in their own words, deception, camouflage, and a front organization.

That is not a conspiracy theory.

That is a federal court record from the Holy Land Foundation trial – the largest terrorism financing prosecution in American history.

CAIR was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in that case alongside more than 200 other groups.

Holy Land Foundation officers were convicted on all 108 counts and sentenced to between 15 and 65 years in federal prison.

CAIR's co-founder Omar Ahmad moved to Washington, D.C. specifically to represent Hamas, according to FBI records obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request.

The FBI's own internal policy since 2008 has barred agents from meeting with CAIR officials except during active criminal investigations.

What Florida's Designation Actually Does

DeSantis did not just sign a press release.

He signed a law with teeth.

Supporting CAIR in Florida is now a felony.

No state contracts.

No taxpayer funding.

No foothold on university campuses.

Students who promote the organization can be immediately expelled.

The designation covers CAIR, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Antifa – and adds the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Sinaloa cartel, Tren de Aragua, and more than 90 other federally designated foreign terrorist organizations to Florida's state list.

The designations carry the full force of state law 30 days after publication.

Attorney General Uthmeier put it plainly on social media: "The free state of Florida will not launder terrorism through our schools."

“Today, Florida drew a line on terrorism,” Uthmeier continued. “With the Governor and Florida Cabinet, we voted to protect your tax dollars from funding terrorist activity by designating Antifa, the Muslim Brotherhood, and CAIR as terrorist organizations under Florida law.”

This Is Now a National Movement

Florida is not doing this alone.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott designated CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood as foreign terrorist organizations in November 2025.

The White House designated Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization in September 2025 – calling it "a militarist, anarchist enterprise that explicitly calls for the overthrow of the United States Government."

The U.S. Treasury Department designated several Muslim Brotherhood branches as terrorist organizations in January 2026.

This is a coordinated push – and it is working.

The ACLU says it plans to fight the Florida designation in court.

That tells you everything.

When the ACLU is your defender, you are not a civil rights organization.

CAIR Spent 32 Years Building a Shield Florida Just Ripped Off

CAIR has spent 32 years positioning itself as the face of Muslim civil rights in America.

It has testified before Congress.

It has been invited into schools.

It has sat across the table from FBI field offices – until 2008, when the FBI finally stopped sitting across the table.

The United Arab Emirates designated CAIR a terrorist organization in 2014, and upheld that designation on appeal.

Now Texas and Florida have done the same.

The dominos are falling, and CAIR knows it.

Every state that follows Florida's model forces CAIR to litigate, spend money, and defend its 1993 founding in open court.

That is a fight CAIR cannot win on the merits.

The only question now is how many more governors are watching what DeSantis just did – and drafting their own version of HB 1471.
