Angie Nixon told a CNN anchor last week she wants her Republican opponent Ashley Moody "locked up" and "punished in jail."
Now Bernie Sanders is in Florida calling her the future of the Democrat Party.
And Bernie Sanders dragged a self-described socialist into Florida and got 2,200 people soaking wet.
The Woman Who Called for Jailing Her Opponent Wants to Be Your Senator
Sanders rolled his Fighting Oligarchy tour into Tampa's Ybor City on Saturday, and 2,200 people stood in the rain to cheer for a Senate candidate who trails Moody by 11 points and has $265,000 in the bank compared to Moody's $8.48 million.
That's not a race.
That's a fundraiser for the other side.
Nixon is a DSA card-carrier who won her primary by beating Alex Vindman – the same Vindman cable news spent four years treating like a hero – and she did it while being outraised 16 to 1.
“Now, Ashley Moody thinks these basic and common sense things are extreme, radical, socialist, because it’s easier to call me names than to explain why she keeps voting to make life harder for working people,” Nixon said.

When the CNN anchor pressed Nixon on whether she had actual evidence to justify jailing Moody, Nixon said she would "be calling for a full-on investigation."
This is your Democrat Senate candidate in Florida.
She joined the DSA in June, ran as a socialist, won her primary – and then told NBC "I'm not a socialist."
Florida's Cuban American community, which knows exactly what socialism looks like up close, noticed.
Sanders Has Been Running This Play for a Decade and It Has Never Worked
Sanders told the wet crowd in Tampa: "They got the money, we got the people."
He has been saying that since 2016.
His presidential campaigns built massive rally crowds and famous small-dollar donor lists – and he lost both times.
His young voter coalition is the most written-about and least reliable demographic in American politics.
During his 2020 presidential run, youth turnout in North Carolina dropped 9% even as overall statewide turnout climbed 17%.
In California's Super Tuesday results, voters under 30 made up only 11% of the electorate.

Enormous excitement, insufficient votes – every single time.
At Saturday's rally, the SEIU president told the crowd that powerful people "are counting on you to stay home."
They might be right.
Many attendees had never been to a political rally before Saturday.
One woman said she learned who Nixon was the day of the event.
Another drove 45 minutes from Dade City and called it her first rally ever.
Cook Political Report rates this race Solid Republican.
Florida hasn't sent a Democrat to the Senate in 14 years.
Trump carried the state by 13 points in 2024.
The Left Is Showing You the Roadmap and Hoping You Won't Notice
What happened in Tampa matters – not because Nixon has any real chance of winning, but because the Left is no longer hiding what they want.
Sanders has spent 2026 barnstorming the country pushing his Fighting Oligarchy tour as a framework for the midterm elections.

The framework runs straight through DSA membership cards, Medicare for All rallies, and candidates who call for jailing Republicans on CNN.
She has the endorsement of the man who nearly won the Democrat presidential nomination twice.
And she is attached to a party organization – the DSA – that openly campaigns on defunding the police, open borders, and dismantling the military, while she quietly tells mainstream reporters she is not actually a socialist.
Bernie endorses her.
AOC celebrated her primary win.
On November 4th, Ashley Moody is going to remind both of them what their young voter revolution is actually worth at the ballot box.
