A California company picked one fight with Ron DeSantis they will live to regret

Not everyone is happy about the bold conservative agenda Ron DeSantis is pursuing.

Now a company promoting the globalist agenda is putting him on notice.

And a California company picked one fight with Ron DeSantis they will live to regret.

Company tries to push fake meat in Florida

Berkeley, California-based Upside Foods is one of the many startups trying to bring cultivated meat to the consumer market.

The company uses stem cells to grow meat in a lab.

“Cultivated products are grown in steel tanks using cells from a living animal, a fertilized egg or a storage bank. The cells are fed with special blends of water, sugar, fats and vitamins. Once they’ve grown, they’re formed into cutlets, nuggets and other shapes,” the Associated Press reported.

Biden’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gave Upside Foods and Good Meat the green light to sell lab-grown chicken.

Upside Foods CEO and founder Uma Valeti put on a party in Miami’s trendy Wynwood neighborhood with this fake meat the night before it was set to be banned in Florida.

“This is delicious meat,” Valeti said. “And we just fundamentally believe that people should have a choice to choose what they want to put on their plate.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill banning fake earlier this year and Alabama followed suit.

Valeti accused the Governor of being misinformed.

“It’s pretty clear to us that the governor and the government have been misinformed,” Valeti said. “And all we’re asking for is a chance to have a direct conversation and say, ‘this is proven science, this is proven safety.’”

Chef Mika Leon who cooked for the event touted the fake meat.

“When you cook it, it sizzles and cooks just like chicken, which was insane,” Leon said. “And then when you go to eat it, it’s juicy.”

Party attendee Alexa Arteaga said that the lab-grown chicken was not quite like the real thing.

“The texture itself is a little bit different, but the taste was really, really good,” Arteaga said. “Like way better than I was expecting.”

Valeti said that his test tube meat avoids the ethical issues of harming animals and its better for the environment because it produces fewer greenhouse gasses.

“We don’t have any confined animals,” Valeti said. “We just have healthy animal cells that are growing in cultivators.”

Florida is protecting consumers by banning fake meat

State Senator Jay Collins (R-FL) sponsored the bill that banned fake meat this year.

He said his primary motivation was safety.

“There are many concerns right here and, until we have those studies and there’s proof positive that this process is going to work, we want to ban this in the state of Florida because it’s just not there quite yet,” Collins said during debate over the bill in February.

Once lab-grown meat becomes more viable, there will inevitably be a push to ban real meat in the name of climate change.

DeSantis called fake meat a globalist plot.

“Today, Florida is fighting back against the global elite’s plan to force the world to eat meat grown in a petri dish or bugs to achieve their authoritarian goals,” DeSantis said when he signed the bill banning it.

Florida is standing firm against letting this Frankenfood get a foothold in the state.
