Most college students would love to get on TV during a football game.
But getting noticed by the camera does not always work out as planned.
And a college football announcer gave a fan the worst news of his life on TV.
Announcer roasts a college student surrounded by ladies at the game
This has been a season to forget for the University of Florida Gators football team.
Florida opened the season getting routed by its instate rivals, the Miami Hurricanes, 41-17.
The Gators opened SEC play at home against the Texas A&M Aggies in a nationally televised matchup on ABC.
Both teams entered the game 1-1 after the Aggies lost their season opener against Notre Dame.
Florida struggled for most of the game and was trailing 33-7 late in the third quarter.
The Gators managed to add two touchdowns to make the final score in their loss a more respectable 33-20.
Florida fans began to head for the exits in the third quarter with their team struggling again.
The ABC announcers were getting a little bored with the game too.
Color commentator Jesse Palmer, a former Florida quarterback, noticed a fan in the crowd.
A group of Florida students remained in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium’s nearly empty student section during the final two minutes of the game.
Palmer noticed a male Florida student dressed in blue and orange overalls with a group of girls.
Announcer uses his intuition to make a guess about a student’s relationship status
It appeared that the male student in overalls might be in an enviable position laughing it up with a group of girls at the game.
Palmer was a contestant on ABC’s dating reality show The Bachelor and later became the host of it.
He traded his football commentator hat for his dating one during the final minutes of the Florida game.
“He’s got a mustache, you can’t see it now but he’s whipping his hand with his shirt,” Palmer said.
The student turned around for the camera.
“I’m gonna make a bold prediction,” Palmer said. “I’m gonna say that guy’s in the friend zone.”

The poor student was brutally roasted on TV for not being able to convert a friendship into a relationship with his female friends.
Play-by-play man Joe Tessitore burst into laughter when Palmer dropped the nugget of wisdom.
“Listen, you are a top analyst,” Tessitore said. “I’m just gonna say it. You know how to give analysis.”
“I see it up close and personal in my other job,” Palmer said. “And I think — I’m gonna say he’s a good listener.”
Tessitore got sideline reporter Katie George in on the ribbing.
“Bachelor Nation is in desperate need of this kind of analysis Katie,” Tessitore told George.
“Don’t kick a man while he’s down, Jesse. Leave him alone,” George said.
“No, I think he’s a great guy. I didn’t say he’s a bad guy,” Palmer said. “I’m just saying, I don’t think he’s dating anybody in the shot right now.”
Tessitore noted that they had an expert in the broadcast booth.
“There’s nobody more equipped to give that analysis than Jesse Palmer,” Tessitore said. “Nobody can analyze this situation better. I mean, the host of The Bachelor.”
It was a rough day for the Florida Gators and one of their male fans on TV.
