A crazy ex-girlfriend was arrested after this revenge plot went wrong fast

Apr 28, 2025

Breakups are always a difficult thing to go through.

Some people can’t let go of the past.

And a crazy ex-girlfriend was arrested after this revenge plot went wrong fast.

A Florida woman pretends to be an ICE agent to arrest her ex-boyfriend’s wife

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are conducting nationwide sweeps as part of President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

The increased ICE presence gave a Florida woman a bad idea about getting back at her ex-boyfriend.

52-year-old Latrance Battle cooked up a scheme to pretend to be an ICE agent and arrest the new wife of her former boyfriend.

Battle dressed in all black, with a black baseball cap, a t-shirt that said ICE, and a white face mask.

She traveled to the hotel in Panama City Beach, Florida, where the wife of her ex-boyfriend worked.

The woman is an illegal alien who is allegedly going through the process of becoming an American citizen.

Battle told the woman that she was there to “pick her up” and take her in.

The bitter ex-girlfriend claimed she was an ICE agent and produced a business card with “Sheriff’s Office” on it.

“Due to being in fear, the victim got in the vehicle and went willingly with Latrance,” The Bay County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “The victim confirmed that she genuinely felt as if Latrance was an ICE agent at the time and she is in the process of becoming a legal United States resident.”

Florida woman’s kidnapping scheme falls apart

Battle had a walkie-talkie in the car that she claimed she was using to coordinate with other ICE agents.

The woman became suspicious when Battle took her to an apartment complex instead of a police station.

She had the phone ripped out of her hands when she tried to call her husband and immigration lawyer.

Battle complained about her ex-boyfriend during the entire trip.

“The victim suspected something was wrong because Latrance told the victim they were going to the Sheriff’s Office,” The Bay County Sheriff’s Office said. “As Latrance went inside the apartment, the victim fled and called law enforcement.”

Battle decided to flee the scene after the woman got away.

A description of her to the police identified her as the ex-girlfriend of the woman’s husband.

The husband got a restraining order against Battle after prior run-ins with her.

She showed up at the man’s workplace in 2022 and tried to attack him.

Battle was also on probation after she was convicted of felony assault.

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office arrested her as she was trying to flee the state to Alabama.

Battle is going to learn a hard lesson about impersonating a federal agent and not being able to let go of the past.

She was charged with felony kidnapping, felony probation violation, felony impersonation of a law enforcement officer, and robbery by sudden snatching.

Impersonating an ICE agent is also a federal crime.

Latrance Battle’s grudge against her ex-boyfriend is going to cost her years of her life behind bars.
