Ron DeSantis surprised the public in October by announcing that his wife, Casey, had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
It’s been a tough few months for the DeSantis family.
But a crowd just erupted in cheers after Ron DeSantis revealed this startling news about his wife’s battle with breast cancer.
During the Christmas holidays, the Democrats and corporate-controlled media attacked Ron DeSantis for allegedly being “missing in action” during the midst of a surge in COVID cases.
After photos emerged showing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sitting maskless outside a martini bar with her boyfriend in Miami, she tried to deflect the criticism by parroting the corporate-controlled media lie that Ron DeSantis has been “missing in action” for two weeks.
But this was a lie.
Ron DeSantis was not “missing in action.”
He was accompanying his wife to her chemotherapy treatments in Tampa, Florida, where he also continued to carry out all of his duties as Governor.
When DeSantis announced his wife’s diagnosis in October, he promised to give his “unwavering support” to her as she battled the disease.
“As she faces the most difficult test of her life, she will not only have my unwavering support but the support of our entire family, as well as the prayers and well wishes from Floridians across our state,” DeSantis wrote in a statement at the time. “Casey is a true fighter, and she will never, never, never give up.”
And now, after a three-month battle with cancer, Ron DeSantis just announced that Casey finished her final chemotherapy treatment on Wednesday.
“I just wanted to let everybody know that the First Lady, yesterday, we completed the final chemotherapy treatment she has to do,” DeSantis announced at a press conference on Thursday.
“It’s not the most fun thing to see someone go through, but at the end of the day, she’s fought really hard,” he continued. “We think she’s responded very well – still got more stuff to do – but that’s a big milestone because it’s nasty stuff when they’re doing that. But I just wanted to let everyone know that she got through that, she ran that gauntlet, she’s doing well, and we look forward to having more good news over the next few weeks and months,” DeSantis added.
Thank you for being by my side from the beginning, but especially yesterday as we celebrated my FINAL Chemo Treatment together. I’m grateful, very humbled and blessed. pic.twitter.com/cl42YBb0fl

Even though she’s “not out of the woods yet,” Ron DeSantis previously predicted that his wife will be able to announce that she is “cancer-free” in 2022.
Despite her breast-cancer diagnosis, Casey DeSantis continues to play an active role in Ron’s administration, spearheading numerous efforts to raise public awareness and funding for important issues such as mental health, cancer research, substance abuse, and improving education.
The positive outlook and high spirits Casey DeSantis kept during her battle with cancer will serve as an inspiration to others who are also dealing with the horrible disease.
