Some people can manage the frustrations of driving better than others.

The open road can become dangerous in an instant.

And a driver got the shock of his life after this scary encounter on a Florida highway.

Florida driver shot at by a motorcycle

A Florida man driving early in the morning on an interstate in Tampa found himself taking gunfire from a motorcycle.

“A 34-year-old St. Petersburg man, driving a Honda CR-V westbound on Interstate 4, observed several motorcyclists who were operating erratically with another unidentified vehicle west of Interstate 275,” a statement from the Florida Highway Patrol read.

The man recorded a video of several motorcyclists on the highway next to him.

One of the bikers closest to him could be seen eyeing him up.

“The driver began to film the motorcyclists with a cell phone when one of the motorcyclists, now traveling adjacent to the victim, discharged several rounds from a handgun,” the Florida Highway Patrol added. “Multiple rounds impacted the Honda, but no injuries were suffered by the victim.”

The biker can be seen right next to the SUV in the video before it goes dark.

One of the bullets left a hole in the rear door of the vehicle.

The driver of the Honda SUV was not injured by the gunfire.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are still trying to track down the biker.

Outlaw motorcycle gang suspected in drive-by shooting

Law enforcement is looking for the driver of the motorcycle.

A logo on the biker’s jacket was for the Outlaws MC.

The Outlaws Motorcycle Club is one of the biggest biker gangs in the country.

Former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Neil H. MacBride said in 2009 that the Outlaws’ “entire environment revolves around violence.”

The gang’s motto is “God forgives, Outlaws don’t.”

The gang has been connected to a slew of crimes across the country including drug trafficking, money laundering, assault, extortion, and murder-for-hire plots.

In Florida in 1995, 22 members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club were tried for illegal weapons charges, arson, murder, robbery, extortion, kidnapping, and drug trafficking.

The District Court for the Middle District of Florida said that bike gang routinely found itself in a federal courthouse.

“Between 1981 and 2003, five significant criminal trials involving the Outlaws Motorcycle Club were conducted in the Tampa Courthouse,” the District Court’s website said. “All of the indictments alleged violations of the federal racketeering laws and the trial evidence included testimony about prostitution, drugs, guns, extortion, and murder.”

The 1995 trial brought in U.S. Marshals from around the country to provide security.

“Security was very high during the trial with United States Marshals brought in from all over the country. At least 16 marshals were in the courtroom at all times, and each of the doors was manned by additional marshals,” the District Court stated.

The late Outlaws Motorcycle Club president Harry Bowman was a member of the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted list in the 1990s before he was finally arrested in 1999 outside Detroit, Michigan.

Bowman was convicted of racketeering and conspiracy to commit murder.

Getting shot at and living to tell the tale is a fortunate outcome when dealing with a dangerous motorcycle gang.
