Democrats declared war on the police after George Floyd’s death in 2022.
The Left treats police officers like second-class citizens.
But a Florida man wearing a Dalmatian costume made one police officer feel like a dog catcher.
Police officers in Florida never know what to expect when they respond to a call or pull someone over for a traffic stop.
On Monday, a Florida state trooper noticed a red pickup truck speeding down US-19 just after midnight while swerving all over the road.
The trooper activated his sirens to alert the driver of the truck to pull over to the side of the road for a traffic stop.
However, the driver did not stop the truck.
Instead, 36-year-old Dylan Keith Devereaux put the pedal to the metal and fled the scene.
Police followed Devereaux until he dropped off a passenger from his vehicle.
But Devereaux did not wait around for the police.
He made a U-turn and continued to flee the troopers, but it did not take long before he crashed into a tree.
Devereaux once again attempted to flee, but this time on foot.
But a trooper tased Devereaux before he could get away from the scene.
As the officer tried to put him in cuffs, Devereaux fought back against the trooper, which led to him being tased for a second time.
But the second taser did not stop Devereaux and he fled into the woods.
“According to the arrest report, Devereaux pushed the trooper and began to run toward his home on Girard Road, with one handcuff on,” WFLA reported. “He then disappeared into a nearby woodline.”
A K-9 unit arrived on the scene moments later and began sweeping the backyard of the home and wooded area where he fled.
While the K-9s searched the woods, police knocked on his girlfriend’s door.
What she told the police put jaws on the floor.
“Devereaux’s girlfriend, 31-year-old Megan Elizabeth Hamilton, told officials she did not want them in her home because she had drugs inside and didn’t want to go to jail,” WFLA reported. “Hamilton also told them Devereaux was not inside, but later said she was worried about what Devereaux would reach for if they entered the home.”
Police finally found and arrested Devereaux.
But they were caught by surprise to see he was wearing a onesie Dalmatian dog costume.
He also had a pouch that contained meth and an unidentified white pill.
The dog costume-wearing man was charged with fleeing to elude, escaping, reckless driving, leaving the scene involving property damage, battery on an officer, assault on an officer, resisting an officer with and without violence, depriving an officer of equipment, possession of drug equipment, petit larceny, and possession of a new legend drug and of methamphetamine.
His girlfriend also made the trip to the local jail with Devereaux and was charged with resisting an officer without violence.
Police in Florida are used to seeing people exhibit strange and unusual behavior.
It is why the “Florida man” theme emerged in recent years.
But this is the first time a Florida police arrested a man wearing a dog costume with a bottle of meth.
