Florida principal busted after throwing a boozing party with over 100 teens
Principals in government schools are supposed to be making sure their students are on the right path in life.
One Florida principal was arrested after throwing a massive booze-fueled party at her home.
Roosevelt Elementary School principal Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan and a teacher at her school, Karly Anderson, in Cocoa Beach, Florida were arrested after they threw a house party with more than 100 teenagers where the booze was flowing.
The Cocoa Beach Police Department responded to a noise complaint at Hill-Brodigan’s home where they discovered that the party was underway.
Police allege that Hill-Brodigan provided coolers filled with alcohol to the hundreds of teens who were partying at her house.
One of the teenagers was so drunk that they needed medical attention.
“While officers were investigating the party, a juvenile was located on the front lawn experiencing an alcohol-related medical event,” the Cocoa Beach Police said in a statement. “The juvenile was so heavily intoxicated that Brevard County Fire Rescue (BCFR) had to respond to treat them.”
Hill-Brodigan turned out the lights and ushered everyone inside when police arrived on the scene.
An intoxicated Anderson spoke to the police and told them she was a teacher and was at the party.
Another teenager who left the party was arrested for a DUI near Hill-Brodigan’s home.
Hill-Brodigan was arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, house party liquor laws, and child neglect.
Anderson was charged with child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Parties at the principal’s house were a regular event
Students told police that Hill-Brodigan made “no attempt to stop the party and was ok with what was happening.”
One student was reportedly wearing a mask and was filmed pointing a firearm at people.
Hill-Brodigan’s two sons were the ones who hosted the party and advertised it on social media.
Students said the parties occurred at least once a month.
Cocoa Beach police had never encountered a scene like they saw at the residence.
“This is a first for me,” Cocoa Beach Police Detective Taylor Payne said.
Hill-Brodigan became the principal at Roosevelt Elementary School in May.
She was previously the teacher of the year in the Brevard County School District.
The school district suspended Hill-Brodigan and Anderson pending the outcome of an investigation.
“Both employees have been immediately placed on administrative leave pending the results of an active police investigation,” The Brevard County School District said. “We are extremely troubled by these accusations and are fully cooperating with the Cocoa Beach Police Department. Our commitment to student safety remains our top priority.”
Parents oftentimes have no idea who the people really are that are overseeing and teaching their children at government schools.
