A Florida Woman Tried to Pay for Taco Bell With Tampons and Then Told Cops Her Mom Lives Two Stones Away

Nov 4, 2026

Florida has given America a lot of DUI stories, but this one is different.

Roshelle Anderson didn't just drive drunk – she tried to pay for her Taco Bell with tampons.

What happened next, when the cops showed up, is something you have to hear to believe.

What the Taco Bell Employees Saw

It was 9:08 on a Sunday night in Boca Raton when employees at the Taco Bell on West Palmetto Park Road called police.

The woman at the drive-thru window was trying to pay for her food with tampons.

When officers arrived, 37-year-old Anderson was climbing out of the driver's seat of her still-running Buick Encore GX.

Her eyes were red and unfocused.

She was speaking to Officer Merice as though he worked at a bank.

When Merice asked who exactly she was trying to pay, Anderson pointed at him – a uniformed officer standing next to a marked squad car in a Taco Bell parking lot – and said "you guys, the bank."

Officer Jack Lull arrived to assist and things got stranger from there.

Two Stones, a State Called Florida, and an Airport That Does Not Exist

Anderson told Lull she knew exactly where she was – near Palmetto Park Road – and that she was heading to her mother's house.

When he asked where her mother lived, she pointed southeast and said "two stones."

Lull followed up, hoping to understand what that meant.

He did not succeed.

So he shifted to a simpler question: what city are you in?

Anderson answered: "Florida."

Lull pointed out that Florida is a state.

She revised her answer to Palm Beach.

She also told him she had landed at Donald J. Trump International Airport about two hours earlier.

There is no airport by that name in Palm Beach County.

She could not correctly identify the date or day of the week – she estimated October 22 or 23 and Thursday or Friday, when the actual date was Sunday, October 25.

Anderson's account of what she had been drinking changed at least three times over the course of the encounter.

First, she denied drinking at all.

Then, she admitted to "a little bit" – one shot of brown liquor about an hour earlier.

Once at the station, she reported drinking approximately half a bottle of white wine at home, starting around noon.

She also told officers she had taken Xanax three to four hours before the encounter.

Inside her car, police found a mostly empty 375-milliliter bottle of Hard Truth rye whiskey – labeled 50% alcohol by volume – sitting on the passenger seat.

They also found prescription bottles with her name on them: alprazolam, benzonatate, and Adderall.

The Numbers Tell the Rest

Anderson agreed to participate in field sobriety exercises and failed every single one.

The eye examination.

The walk-and-turn.

The one-leg stand.

The finger-to-nose test.

The alphabet test.

The 30-second time-estimation test.

At the station, she blew a 0.222 and 0.221 – nearly three times Florida's legal limit of 0.08.

Florida law sets an enhanced DUI threshold at 0.15, and Anderson's reading was nearly half again that.

The Xanax on top of the whiskey didn't help her case, either.

Mixing a benzodiazepine with alcohol doesn't add the effects together – it multiplies them.

That's why her prescription isn't a defense here – it's additional evidence of impairment, and prosecutors can use it to stack charges.

She was booked at 3:28 a.m. on October 26 and released at 9:39 a.m. after posting a $1,000 cash bond.

The enhanced DUI charge is still pending.

And somewhere in Boca Raton, two stones away from the Taco Bell, Anderson's mother is presumably waiting.
