Ron DeSantis appears to be laying the groundwork to make a bid for the White House in 2024.
But some Republicans are done waiting around on the Governor.
And a former top Trump administration official is pressuring Ron DeSantis to make one decision that caught everyone by surprise.
After his 19-point landslide re-election victory in the November elections, many conservatives began calling on Ron DeSantis to run for President in 2024.
DeSantis is keeping his decision close to his chest and within his tight inner circle.
But while DeSantis may be keeping his decision under wraps, he is moving forward and making all the moves a Presidential candidate would make in his position.
He released a memoir, which topped The New York Times bestseller list, and has been traveling and discussing his pro-freedom agenda with Republicans in several states across the country.
Sources close to DeSantis believe he is waiting until the legislative session ends in May to make his announcement.
But several independent pro-DeSantis PACs have already been launched as part of an effort to encourage him to run in 2024.
Ed Rollins, former campaign manager for Ronald Reagan and adviser to Great America PAC, created “Ready for Ron” PAC last year and former Trump supporter and political strategist John Thomas announced “Ron to the Rescue” in November.
But on Thursday, former senior official in the Trump administration, Ken Cuccinelli, announced a Super PAC urging Ron DeSantis to run for President in 2024 named “NEVER BACK DOWN.”
Cuccinelli served as Deputy Homeland Security Secretary for Donald Trump.
“I have been speaking to many grassroots conservative activists around the country who are very enthusiastic for Governor DeSantis to run for President in 2024,” Cuccinelli said in a statement. “The energy is there, grassroots conservatives see the governor as a leader and a fighter with a winning conservative track record who will lead the Republican Party to victory in 2024,” he continued, before adding that “based on those conversations, I am most confident that we will build an unmatched grassroots political army for Governor DeSantis to help carry him to the White House.”
Cuccinelli posted a video on Twitter announcing his new PAC to pressure DeSantis to enter the race.
“Today I’m launching the Never Back Down PAC to encourage @GovRonDeSantis to run for President in 2024,” Cuccinelli said on Twitter. “The energy is real. Grassroots conservatives see that Governor DeSantis is a proven leader who can win in 2024.”
“Ron DeSantis doesn’t just talk, he acts, but most of all he never backs down,” Cuccinelli declared in the video posted to social media. “Governor DeSantis, today I’m asking you to run for President. You’ve had our back, now we will have yours.”

The anticipation is growing by the day around Ron DeSantis’ 2024 plans.
With so many conservatives urging him to run, it’ll be hard for the Governor to not eventually jump into the fray.
