The radical Left hates Governor Ron DeSantis for taking a sledgehammer to the woke agenda in Florida.
They’re willing to do anything – including lie – to take down DeSantis.
But a left-wing professor just got caught trying to make Ron DeSantis look bad by manipulating these poll results.
School closures during the pandemic required parents across the nation to take a more direct role in their children’s daily lessons and homework.
Many parents were shocked and horrified by the amount of indoctrination their children were facing at school in the form of woke curriculum like Critical Race Theory.
During his State of the State Address, Ron DeSantis vowed to make 2022 the “year of the parent” in Florida.
DeSantis signed a bill prohibiting woke curriculum like Critical Race Theory in government schools.
But the Florida Governor caught the most fire over the Parental Rights in Education Bill, which simply banned teaching gender and sex to children in kindergarten through third grade.
Of course, the word “gay” or “homosexual” does not even appear in the legislation.
But the Left misnamed it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill and proceeded to attack DeSantis and accuse him of waging a war on the LGBT community.
Despite a pressure campaign from the entire radical Left, as well as from the state’s largest employer, Disney, DeSantis refused to budge and signed the bill into law.
Even though it’s been over a year since DeSantis signed the legislation in March of 2022, the Left continues to lie about and attack the Governor over it.
The left-wing media recently claimed that a new study found 40% of parents in Florida want to leave the state over the Parental Rights in Education Bill.
“New research from the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law and Clark University finds 40% of Florida parents surveyed said they would like to move out of Florida—20% very much so and 19% somewhat—because of the state’s Don’t Say Gay law,” the Los Angeles Blade reported. “Using data gathered from a diverse sample of 106 parents in Florida, researchers examined their perspectives on the state’s Don’t Say Gay law and its expansion,” the Los Angeles Blade continued, before adding that “one-third disagreed with the law, and 46% disagreed with the expansion.”
However, there is one major problem with the study.
The researchers massively oversampled Democrats by a staggering 20%.
FLVOICE reported that the study oversampled “Democrats in comparison to Republicans by nearly 20%, overwhelmingly different from the true composition of Floridians by party affiliation,” before adding that “the sample of 106 parents involved 42.2% identifying as Democrats, 28.3% as Independents, and only 24.5% as Republicans.”
On the contrary, the Florida Department of State shows Florida is composed of 37.1% Republicans, 33.3% Democrats, and 27.6% Independents.
The study was also primarily composed of left-wing counties like Broward and Orange.
Not only that, but they also described the parental rights legislation as the “Don’t Say Gay law.”
Republican Party of Florida Chairman Christian Ziegler blasted the authors of the study for their unprofessionalism.
“Over 60% of voters support the actual language in the law, including 55% of Democrats,” Ziegler told the Washington Examiner. “With that said, if a Democrat Voter is passionate and perverted enough to support the sexualization of kids during school in grades as early as Kindergarten, then I would agree that Florida is probably not the best fit for them.”
