A Sarasota School Board member just made one disgusting statement about ICE that has Republicans demanding his removal

Trump's crackdown on illegal aliens is finally restoring law and order to America's streets.

But one Florida School Board member is doing everything he can to obstruct it.

And this Sarasota School Board member just made one disgusting statement about ICE that has Republicans demanding his removal.

Edwards Spreads Dangerous Anti-ICE Lies at Radical Protest

School Board member Tom Edwards headlined an anti-ICE rally on January 10 where he spread vicious lies about federal law enforcement.

Edwards accused Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents of "murder" after an agent shot Renee Good during a confrontation in Minneapolis.

He wasn't giving parents a sober update on school safety.

He was whipping up a left-wing mob against the men and women risking their lives to enforce our immigration laws.

The Republican Party of Sarasota County had enough and called on Governor Ron DeSantis to remove Edwards from office.

"This is the sort of dangerous and irresponsible rhetoric by political leaders that has led to violence against Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in other states, including Minnesota, Illinois and California," the county GOP stated.

They're absolutely right.

Edwards told the crowd that ICE agents "must produce a warrant in order to enter our schools" — which is already the law and what ICE does.

But then he added this poison: "But judging from ICE behaviors, up to and including this week, Renee Good's murder, I am positive that cannot be trusted."

That's a School Board member openly telling people not to trust federal law enforcement doing their jobs.

Edwards also serves as Executive Director of Project Pride SRQ, a radical leftist organization that's previously drawn calls for his removal.

Republicans Fight Back With Resolution Supporting Law Enforcement

School Board Chair Bridget Ziegler wasn't about to let Edwards' anti-law enforcement rhetoric stand unchallenged.

She introduced a resolution formally committing Sarasota County Schools to full cooperation with ICE and all law enforcement agencies.

The resolution passed 3-2 after liberal activists staged a seven-hour tantrum at the Board meeting.

Over 150 speakers showed up — most of them Edwards' radical followers trying to turn schools into sanctuary cities for illegal aliens.

"Our most liberal School Board Member headlined the anti-ICE political rally in downtown Sarasota this past weekend, delivering wild claims that have confused and angered many in our community," Ziegler wrote on Facebook.

She's exactly right.

The resolution doesn't change anything — schools already cooperate with law enforcement when agents present valid warrants, just like they're supposed to.

But it sends a crystal clear message that Sarasota schools won't become safe havens for criminals who violate federal immigration law.

The resolution also puts Edwards and his allies on notice: any Board member, employee, or volunteer who interferes with lawful law enforcement actions faces termination and potential criminal charges.

Edwards showed his true colors by attacking the resolution as "politically motivated theater."

"I think the Board Chair and her husband are toxic in our state and are trying to create wedge issues and culture war issues," Edwards whined.

Translation: he's mad that Republicans won't let him turn schools into immigrant sanctuaries.

Edwards Calls ICE Agents "Deputized Vigilantes"

Edwards doubled down on his disgusting anti-law enforcement rhetoric.

He claimed schools have the "very best" policies to protect students — then immediately contradicted himself by trashing the federal agents tasked with removing dangerous criminal illegal aliens from our communities.

"But as we saw in Minneapolis — and, frankly, across the country — we're dealing with a group of deputized vigilantes through Homeland Security that often seems out of control," Edwards said.

Calling ICE agents "deputized vigilantes" is exactly the kind of inflammatory garbage that gets law enforcement officers hurt or killed.

These are federal agents doing the job Congress gave them — enforcing immigration law that Edwards apparently thinks doesn't apply in his school district.

Liberal students skipped class to join Edwards' tantrum at the Board meeting.

One student complained the resolution "does not improve student safety" — completely missing the point that removing criminal illegal aliens from the community is exactly what improves student safety.

Since Trump began his second term, he's restored common sense to immigration enforcement by removing the Biden-era restrictions that kept ICE away from schools.

Since the Charlie Kirk assassination on September 10, Trump has cracked down hard on political violence with decisive action like the Memphis National Guard deployment.

Trump designated MS-13, the Sinaloa Cartel, and other brutal gangs as Foreign Terrorist Organizations, giving law enforcement the tools they need to destroy these criminal networks.

Edwards stands in the way of that mission.

He's using his School Board position to spread lies about ICE and encourage resistance to federal law enforcement.

The Sarasota County GOP is calling on supporters to show up at future Board meetings to support law and order — because Edwards' radical followers will absolutely be there trying to disrupt legitimate Board business.

Edwards made his choice to side with illegal aliens over law-abiding Americans.

Now Republicans are demanding he face the consequences.
