A top Democrat just learned some bad news that hit very close to home

Every Democrat in America with Presidential ambitions is preparing to run in 2024.

But one of the top contender’s entire strategy crashed and burned.

And a top Democrat just learned some bad news that hit very close to home.

California Governor Gavin Newsom decided his best path to the 2024 Democrat nomination was picking a fight with Ron DeSantis.

Newsom spent $100,000 of campaign money to run a TV ad in Florida falsely claiming freedom was under attack in the Sunshine State.

Besides Donald Trump, Governor DeSantis is the most hated conservative on the Left.

But in feuding with DeSantis, Newsom exposed his own political vulnerabilities that would lead to Newsom’s landslide defeat if DeSantis and Newsom are their party’s nominees in 2024.

Newsom already suffered a massive embarrassment when the news broke that Newsom’s in-laws donated to Ron DeSantis’ PAC.

But the situation went from bad to worse for Newsom as his in-laws also moved to Florida during the COVID pandemic when DeSantis rejected lockdowns and Newsom imposed some of the harshest restrictions and mandates in America.

Fox News reports:

Not only did the in-laws of Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom give money to one of his biggest political foes; they fled from his state during the pandemic.

Kenneth F. Siebel Jr. and Judith A. Siebel, parents of Newsom’s wife Jennifer Siebel and longtime California residents, became Florida residents in 2020 after purchasing a $3.3 million Naples home in March of that year, records show. The Siebels appear to still have ownership of their California home in northern San Francisco suburb of Ross.

Newsom’s in-laws, however, officially became registered voters in the Sunshine State as of June 2020. Kenneth Siebel is a registered Republican while Judith Siebel has no party affiliation.

COVID lockdowns, mask mandates, and vaccine requirements are now massively unpopular.

Democrats all want to pretend they never closed their economies, locked down schools, and forced their citizens to wear useless masks or take ineffective vaccines.

If Gavin Newsom and Ron DeSantis squared off the election would quickly become a referendum on Florida and California’s approach to the coronavirus pandemic.

In that case, all Governor DeSantis has to do is point out there was a referendum in Gavin Newsom’s own family and those closest to Newsom chose the freedom offered in Florida over Newsom’s COVID tyranny.
