A top Ron DeSantis rival just dug themselves a legal hole they will never get out of

Democrats looking to run against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis this November continue to implode.

It’s taking on national implications.

And a top Ron DeSantis rival just dug themselves a legal hole they will never get out of.

Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried is one of the Democrats looking to challenge Governor DeSantis in his re-election campaign.

Fried’s pitch to Democrats is that she is the only Democrat capable of winning a statewide election.

“As the only one [Democrat] who’s been able to win our state since Barack Obama, I’m confident that the Democrats are going to want a proven winner, a proven advocate and somebody that they trust,” Fried claimed.

But in trying to rev up the Democrat Party base, Fried is alienating the rest of Florida’s increasingly Republican-leaning electorate.

Fried is focusing on the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion, which showed there are five justices poised to overturn Roe v. Wade.

“We have been talking about the potential reversal of Roe v. Wade for four decades at this point, and now, unfortunately, this is a reality,” Fried declared.

Fried argued the court striking down nationwide abortion on demand would galvanize voters that previously intended on sitting out the election.

“People who may have sat on the sidelines, the next generation, who understand that it is their rights that are going to be infringed upon—you are going to see women and men all across the state, all across the country, not only protesting and marching, registering to vote and showing up,” Fried added.

Fried complained that legislation in Florida banning abortions after 15 weeks was 100% Pro-Life with the only exception being for the life of the mother.

“The fact of the matter is, there are no exceptions for rape, for incest, for victims of sex trafficking,” Fried stated. “So not only do we need to reverse it, but we need to create better protections for each of those classes of individuals.”

But Fried’s dream of the Supreme Court saving Democrats in the fall is badly misplaced.

Polls show only around 25 percent of Americans supports the Democrats’ extremist position of abortion-on-demand up until the moment of birth with no restriction.

And once the Democrats are forced to defend that radical belief in abortion all the time and at any time, support for their position plummets.
