But a Victoria’s Secret model started a fight with a Miami club after an awful mistake.
Victoria’s Secret model and her husband sue after being banned from Miami club
Former Victoria’s Secret Angel Karolina Kurkova was one of the top models in the world in the 2000s before she transitioned to a career in acting.
She was cast in the 2009 movie G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra as the character Cover Girl.
Kurkova has settled down in Miami, Florida, where she lives with her husband, Archie Drury, and their three children.
The family has lived on the ultra-exclusive Fisher Island since 2013 with neighbors like Oprah Winfrey, tennis great Boris Becker, actress Julia Roberts, and other celebrities.
No bridge leads into the island, so the only way to get to it is by boat or helicopter.
Kurkova and Drury were thrown out of the Fisher Island Club in January after repeated complaints about him.
Drury was accused of stealing a Range Rover at the club that belonged to tennis star Caroline Wozniacki and her husband, former NBA player David Lee.
That led to the couple being suspended from the club for six months.
Drury claimed that he made a mistake since he also drove a Range Rover.
Wozniacki and Lee did not press charges.
The former Victora’s Secret model’s two-year-old daughter also bit the child of Wozniacki and Lee at the Fisher Day School.
Kurkova and Drury were ultimately kicked out of the exclusive club after he tried to enter it during his suspension and tried to pass off his membership to someone else.
The club accused Drury of berating staff over where his friend, former NFL legend Tom Brady, could park his boat.
“Mr. Drury came into the office screaming and visibly upset regarding where the marina staff was parking Tom Brady’s vessel,” a November 2023 letter from the club stated.
Drury also claimed that he was not able to access his boat that docked in the club’s marina because of his suspension.
The couple filed a lawsuit against the club to get their membership reinstated.
Real estate rivalry is alleged to be behind the dispute with the club
Drury is a luxury real estate broker who worked for Douglas Elliman, one of the club’s board members, before going solo.
The couple alleged in their lawsuit that getting kicked out of the club was retaliation.
“Karolina Kurkova and Archie Drury have been targeted by a ‘deliberate’ and orchestrated campaign to damage their reputations and business interests, both on and off Fisher Island. These attacks stem from Mr. Drury’s decision to leave Douglas Elliman in 2023 to launch his own real estate brokerage firm, provoking retaliatory efforts aimed at undermining their success,” Kurkova’s spokeswoman Melanie A. Bonvicino told Page Six.
The Fisher Island Club denied the allegations against it.
Kurkova and Drury put their home on the island up for sale last year for $6.9 million.
The club in one of the most exclusive islands in Florida is filled with drama typically reserved for a Hollywood movie.
