Casey DeSantis has always been heavily involved in her husband’s campaigns and administrations.
Those roles could be reversed if Casey runs for Governor in 2026.
But all hell broke loose when Matt Gaetz asked Ron DeSantis one devastating question about his wife Casey.
Under Ron DeSantis’ leadership, Florida went from being the top swing state in the country to a solid red state with a Republican supermajority in the legislature.
DeSantis took Republicans from having 300,000 less registered voters than Democrats in Florida to enjoying a voter registration advantage of over one million.
This is why Ron DeSantis is wildly popular with voters in the Sunshine State.
State law prevents Ron DeSantis from seeking a third consecutive term next year.
But Casey DeSantis is expected to follow in her husband’s footsteps by running for Governor in 2026.
Casey DeSantis has been very involved in her husband’s political career in Florida.
As a former Emmy-Award winning television anchor, Casey DeSantis is a great speaker and effective communicator.
In July of 2022, Casey DeSantis launched an initiative that brings public and private sectors together to help families in need called the Hope Florida Fund.
The initiative has already helped tens of thousands of Floridians get off welfare and government assistance.
“Since its inception, Hope Florida will have transitioned nearly 20,000 Floridians off of government assistance and on to a pathway to prosperity and economic self-sufficiency so they can achieve the American dream,” she previously announced.
According to Casey DeSantis, Hope Florida Fund does not rely on big government or taxpayer dollars.
It brings public and private sectors together to help families in need by “getting government out of the way.”
But Hope Florida is currently under scrutiny over the potential abuse of a $10 million payment.
“A welfare assistance program spearheaded by first lady Casey DeSantis is under fire from Republican lawmakers who question the legality of a $10 million donation it received last year,” Axios reported. “The Hope Florida Foundation, the charity arm of the program, received the $10 million last year as part of a $67 million settlement between the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration and healthcare giant Centene Corporation,” Axios continued. “State law says the donation should have gone to a trust fund or general fund overseen by state lawmakers.”
Axios added that “the foundation also appears to be out of compliance with multiple state laws, including failing to submit its annual audit and publish its tax forms.”
State House Budget Chairman Lawrence McClure fired off a letter to six agencies on Friday requesting an array of documents as part of a probe into government spending.
The letters asked each agency to provide all communications and documents related to the Hope Florida Program and the Hope Florida Foundation.
“We’re just looking for accountability and efficiency,” McClure said in an interview. “That’s it – nothing more, nothing.”
But it is not just Democrats who are questioning the $10 million.
Former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz recently interviewed the House Speaker about the potential scandal involving DeSantis and Hope Florida.
“Did Florida Governor Ron DeSantis illegally direct $10 million to a charity run by his wife?” Gaetz asked.

In a follow up post after the interview, Gaetz wrote that “the Florida AG is making the argument that a $10 million payment an HMO made to the Casey DeSantis-aligned charity to resolve a $67 million dispute with the State was ‘their own decision.’”

On Monday, Ron DeSantis ripped House Republicans in Florida for parroting the “smears” of the “liberal media.”
“Shame on you in the Florida House, and your terrible behavior and leadership,” DeSantis said. “They would have lost their primaries.”
“None of these Republican leaders got elected on the platform that they were going to launch baseless attacks on the Governor and First Lady,” DeSantis added.
Only time will tell what the investigation uncovers about the $10 million.
But the findings could determine whether or not Casey DeSantis runs for Governor in 2026.
