Crime is soaring in Democrat-led cities across the country due to George Soros-backed prosecutors implementing pro-crime policies like cashless bail.
Ron DeSantis is showing the Left he meant business when he declared that “Florida is where woke goes to die.”
And all hell broke loose when Ron DeSantis suspended this woke state prosecutor for dereliction of duty.
After two police officers were shot last Friday in Orlando, Ron DeSantis put criminals on notice that they will face “harsh justice” in the law-and-order state of Florida.
But it’s not just criminals who DeSantis put on notice.
DeSantis also refuses to tolerate left-wing prosecutors who refuse to enforce the law and instead bow to the woke Left.
And during a press conference Wednesday in Tallahassee, DeSantis announced that he had just suspended a woke state prosecutor for “neglect of duty.”
“The state of Florida is a law-and-order state, and that means we support the men and women who wear the uniform who protect and serve,” DeSantis said. “It means we have strong policies to hold criminals accountable for their misconduct,” DeSantis continued, adding that state prosecutors “have a duty to faithfully enforce the law.”
DeSantis went on to explain how Orange-Osceola State Attorney Monique Worrell put her woke ideology above the rule of law.
“One’s political agenda cannot trump this solemn duty, refusing to faithfully enforce the laws of Florida puts our communities in danger and victimizes innocent Floridians,” he said.
DeSantis pointed out how Worrell’s woke policies “have allowed murderers, other violent offenders, and dangerous drug traffickers to receive extremely reduced sentences and escape the full consequences of their criminal conduct.”
The Governor even alleges that Worrell even limited charges for child pornography.
DeSantis announced he had appointed Judge Andrew Bain to replace Worrell.
Of course, this is not the first woke prosecutor DeSantis has dropped the hammer on.
Last year, DeSantis suspended State Attorney Andrew Warren for “refusing to enforce any prohibitions on sex change operations for minors, regardless of action from the legislature,” as well as “asserting that he would not enforce any laws relating to protecting the right to life in the Sunshine State.”
After Warren tried to stop DeSantis in court, a federal judge handed down a decision in January upholding the suspension.
Law-enforcement officers expressed their appreciation to DeSantis for “always” placing law-abiding citizens and victims ahead of the criminals.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd praised DeSantis for picking Judge Bain, a former University of Miami football star, as Worrell’s replacement.
“Judge Bain is going to get after these criminals, like the people he did on the football field,” Grady said. “He was an all-star on the football field, he’s going to be an all-star as the state attorney.”
Ron DeSantis warned the Left that “Florida is where woke goes to die.”
And he just showed another woke prosecutor that he meant business.
