Marriage is meant to be for life.
When starry-eyed couples say their wedding vows, they never imagine their wedded bliss would end in divorce.
Or in this case, murder.
But rejection and anger can sometimes cause people to snap.
So, when Takeshia Eads told her husband, Lamar Bryant, she wanted a divorce, he did not take it so well.
Instead of accepting the reality that his wife wanted out, or trying to make it work, Bryant took things into his own hands.
And the end result was tragic.
A drunken fit of rage
The tragic afternoon began when Bryant picked up his teen daughter from school.
According to authorities, the teen stated her dad was slurring his words and was already drunk when he came to pick her up.
But apparently not “drunk enough” in his mind, as Bryant proceeded to drive to the liquor store to get more booze, the Miami Herald reported.
Like a maniac, he continued to drink and drive with his teen daughter in the car and wanted to make one final stop before heading home.
The teen reported her dad stopped by a storage unit and returned with two guns.
Not a good plan.
But pretending like everything was normal, he returned home.
When Eads was sitting outside the porch talking to his other daughter, the husband became “nervous” because he heard helicopters flying around, reported the Miami Herald.
To manage his anxiety, he asked his teen daughter to put the guns in her purse and hide them behind the house, which she did.
But she never expected what would happen next.
To her horror, Bryant went around the back of the house to retrieve the guns and then proceeded to walk inside the house and shoot his wife dead while she was in the bathroom.
A shocking ending
Bryant was so drunk and angry about his wife wanting to divorce him, he killed her.
His own wife.
With his children outside.
Horrifying.
Even more disturbing, after the family heard gunshots, they asked Bryant what happened as he walked out of the house.
He simply replied “nothing” and shrugged his shoulders before getting in his car and driving away.
Even more heartbreaking, Eads’ oldest daughter went in to see what happened and found her mother slumped over the toilet dead, the Miami Herald reported.
She was brutally shot in the head.
Horrifying.
One cannot even begin to imagine the trauma the children are experiencing finding out their father killed their mother.
And the fact that he involved the teen girl by asking her to “hide the guns” is even more despicable.
But Bryant’s extreme reaction shows what can happen if a person mentally snaps.
And it is scary.
