The Republican establishment is always ready to run from a fight.
Some members of Congress won’t back down.
And Byron Donalds called out the establishment over this cowardly act of surrender.
Byron Donalds holds a town hall despite Democrat infiltration
Left-wing groups and Democrat activists have been organizing takeovers of town halls held by House Republicans for months.
Rowdy Democrat activists show up at a town hall and raise hell, even in safe Republican districts.
The media seizes on these performative stunts to push a false narrative that a massive backlash is building against President Donald Trump’s agenda to scare weak-kneed House Republicans.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) instructed House Republicans to skip holding town halls to avoid the controversy.
Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) ignored him and held one in Estero, Florida, which got heated.
Donalds defended eliminating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from unruly Democrat activists.
He stared down the mob and wouldn’t have it any other way.
The Florida lawmaker defended his decision to hold a town hall during an appearance on Fox Business Network’s Varney & Co.
“Why did you jump into the lion’s den?” host Stuart Varney asked.
“Stu, that’s who I am. I heard what Republican leadership said, but I disagree,” Donalds replied. “I think every member should be holding town halls in person with their constituents.”
Donalds noted that Democrats are more organized than ever before after seeing his town hall getting taken over by left-wing activists.
Byron Donalds doesn’t back down from a fight
Donalds said that he wants to hear from constituents who disagree with him as long as they don’t cross the line.
He had to throw several people out of his town hall for being disruptive.
“I’ve been holding town halls for five years. I never saw this many Democrats come to any one of my town halls, but they want to show up now,” Donalds explained. “That’s okay. That’s part of the process. But I if you want to come in, you want to make a scene, yell boo, we’re going to kick you out. And at the beginning of the town hall, we were very clear with people. Please be respectful.”
Donalds is running for Florida Governor next year with the endorsement of Trump.
He told Fox News host Sean Hannity that his willingness to go into the lion’s den was why he earned the President’s support.
“This is why Donald Trump supports me to be Florida’s next governor,” Donalds explained. “Because I will take the message of common sense and conservatism anywhere, any place, any time, in any audience. I’m not going to be intimidated by any of these protesters.”
Donalds said that Republicans shouldn’t be afraid of these unruly left-wing mobs.
“Members of Congress should not be intimidated by these people. They want to shout you down to try to deflect and distract from their terrible policy and how they left America really at the bottom in the pit because of the terrible presidency of Joe Biden,” Donalds added. “We shouldn’t put up with it. We should confront it head-on.”
Byron Donalds won’t follow the establishment’s advice and cower in fear because of some left-wing activists.
