Byron Donalds had some bad news for Democrats that hit them like a ton of bricks

Democrats are reeling since getting shellacked in the election.

Florida is ground zero for the party’s collapse.

And Byron Donalds had some bad news for Democrats that hit them like a ton of bricks.

Top Florida Democrat leaves the party and claims it’s dead

Democrats in Florida have been having a rough time since the 2020 Election.

Republicans in the state have built an advantage of more than 1.2 million registered voters.

Florida State Senate Minority Leader Jason Pizzo (D-Sunny Isles Beach) left the Democrat Party to become an independent.

“Here’s the issue. The Democrat Party in Florida is dead. There are good people that can resuscitate it. But they don’t want it to be me,” Pizzo said.

Republicans hold every statewide office in Florida and have supermajorities in both houses of the State Legislature.

Two Democrat State Representatives left the party to become Republicans earlier this year.

Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) agreed with Pizzo about the state of Florida Democrats during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s Sunday Morning Futures

“The Democrats here in Florida have been soundly defeated. You gotta give credit where credit is due – Governor DeSantis’s leadership during Covid,” Donalds stated. “And really his governorship over the last couple of years, in part with the amount of voters that have chosen Florida. They’ve become Republicans.”

Donalds, who is running to become Florida Governor, said that Democrats in the Sunshine State are a mess.

“The Democrats have no message. They have no leader,” Donalds said. “They really don’t know where to go.”

Florida Democrats are road kill

Donalds argued that Democrats’ embrace of extremism had alienated voters.

He said that the party values illegal aliens more than American citizens.

“Their party is a mess. It’s massively divided. And so what you’re seeing here is Democrats in our state are saying enough is enough. They’re either becoming Republicans or they’re going Independent,” Donalds explained.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis oversaw the dramatic shift from his state being the biggest battleground state in the country to a red one.

He boasted about decimating Florida Democrats in 2023 to a group of Michigan Republicans.

Even Pizzo admitted that the Republican message was resonating with Florida voters.

“They’re not recruiting or retaining anybody,” Pizzo told Fox News. “Democrats haven’t had the gubernatorial mansion here since 1994, so it’s been a little over 30 years. The performance is not there, and they were rudderless and without direction.”

He noted that Democrats made excuses for criminals and treated lawbreakers like helpless children.

“We’ve had bills recently, people squatting in people’s homes or hotels, transient occupancy in hotels and the Democrats just, you know, keep showing up saying have mercy, have mercy. But to some extent, enough is enough. And that’s where we are,” Pizzo noted.

The Florida Democrat Party is locked in a death spiral that it can’t escape from.
