Casey DeSantis could have a future in politics.
She’s getting her first taste of battling the establishment.
And Casey DeSantis found herself in one fight with RINOs that she never expected.
Casey DeSantis’ program to get Floridians off welfare questioned
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a lame duck with his term set to expire about the 2026 Midterm Elections.
The RINO leadership in the Florida State Legislature has felt emboldened in battling him over his agenda this year.
DeSantis fought them to pass anti-illegal immigration to help the Trump administration carry out mass deportations early this year.
RINO sellouts have battled DeSantis on taxes and gun rights during the current session of the legislature.
The establishment now has its sights set on Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis.
She launched the Hope Florida program in 2021 to use the power of the private sector to help Floridians in need.
The program connects needy Floridians with charities, religious organizations, and businesses for help.
Hope Navigators help people find the resources they need.
Nearly 100,000 Floridians have been helped by the program and more than 25,000 have gotten off government assistance using it.
Hope Florida is getting caught in the crossfire between Ron DeSantis and the RINOs in the legislature.
The Florida Department of Children and Families oversees the Hope Florida Foundation, a nonprofit, and the state’s Medicaid program.
Participating in the Hope Florida program was made a requirement by the department for any insurance company participating in Medicaid.
The DeSantis administration took $10 million from a settlement of a lawsuit between the Medicaid operator Centene and the state to fund the Hope Florida program.
RINO Florida State Representative Alex Andrade (R-Pensacola) falsely claimed the “$10 million transfer of funds … was probably illegal.”
An investigation by the state legislature is underway into Hope Florida.
Casey DeSantis comes under fire from RINOs
Casey DeSantis has floated the idea of running for Governor and criticized the RINOs in the State Legislature.
Andrade and the Florida media are firing their opening salvo against her as she mulls over the possibility of replacing her husband in the Governor’s Mansion.
Florida law requires that money received from a lawsuit be placed into a fund to be used by the State Legislature.
Agency for Healthcare Administration spokeswoman Mallory McManus noted that money came from a lawsuit that was settled before it went to court and the donation was above board.
Ron DeSantis slammed RINOs and the media.
“That program has been able to get 30,000 Floridians off of welfare… it has saved taxpayers $100M!” DeSantis exclaimed.
“These are people who never had anything negative to say about any of the stuff … with Hope Florida, and so they’re basically grasping at straws to try to do something to try to reflect negatively on it,” DeSantis added.
He noted that RINOs and the media were working hand in hand on this smear.
“The reality is this is a political agenda, and you do have Republicans and the leadership office working hat in hand with the Miami Herald and the Tampa Bay Times, very liberal media outlets,” DeSantis stated. “Is that what Republicans do … work with the Miami Herald? Are you kidding me? But that’s what they’re doing. And they think that somehow you’re going to believe this drivel. So don’t fall for the political nonsense.”
Casey DeSantis is getting a taste of big league politics as she considers a run for Governor.
