And Casey DeSantis just left tears in liberals’ eyes when she shared this black woman’s story.
The spouse and family members of Presidential candidates typically play a large role on the campaign trail, often filling in as surrogates to meet with voters at rallies and events.
This is especially true for Ron DeSantis, who considers his wife to be a “secret weapon” and his campaign’s “greatest asset.”
As part of his recent campaign reboot, Casey DeSantis is expected to play an even bigger role in his new early-state strategy.
“Enlarging Casey DeSantis’s role, specifically, is something super PAC officials said they view as a crucial way to boost the governor’s campaign,” CNN reported.
Kristin Davison, the COO of the pro-DeSantis Super PAC Never Back Down, said Casey DeSantis “brings a level of humility and warmness” that allows her to “convert an entire room.”
Casey has already made a few solo trips to Iowa to campaign on her husband’s behalf.
On one trip to Iowa, she launched a national version of her group “Mamas for DeSantis” and traveled around with popular Governor Kim Reynolds.
“Mamas are going to be the game-changer of this election,” Casey DeSantis said about her group. “Full stop – let’s do this!”
Casey DeSantis recently shared a video on social media of Moms for Liberty’s National Director of Engagement, Tia Bess, where she told a heartwarming story about Ron DeSantis not forcing her autistic kid to wear a mask.
“I am unmasked, unvaccinated, and unapologetic,” she told the crowd. “I’m here to say right now that we the people need to stand up and we are gonna stand up.”
Her son could only speak 10 words in 2019 and relied heavily on reading lips.
“Before COVID, he was not speaking,” she said, before inviting her son up to the microphone to tell a joke about a sand “witch.”
“Don’t mess with my fellow mama, Tia!” Casey DeSantis wrote in a post above the video.
“When unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats try to impose mandates on our kids, @RonDeSantis fights back,” she continued.
“He has and will always protect the innocence of our kids and the rights of parents.”
“Full Stop,” she concluded.
