You've been buying Enfamil and Similac for your grandchildren because those are the trusted names – the ones that have been on shelves for decades.
Now Florida's Department of Health has gone and actually tested what's inside them.
And what Casey DeSantis found in your grandkids’ food is something big companies have been praying you'd never learn.
What Florida Found In America's Baby Formula
This is the Healthy Florida First initiative – Governor Ron DeSantis, First Lady Casey DeSantis, and Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo independently testing what the federal government spent decades refusing to check.
Florida tested 24 infant formula products and found elevated heavy metals in 16 of them.
Not one obscure brand nobody buys – we're talking Enfamil and Similac, the two products that dominate the formula aisle in every Walmart, every Target, every grocery store in America.
"It is not fair to any mother to go into a store, to have to sit there and wonder which option is better than another when all of it should be safe," Casey DeSantis said.

Florida's Surgeon General was direct about what consuming these products means for children: a definite increased risk of cancer over the course of a lifetime when heavy metals enter the body in infancy.
They don't just pass through – they accumulate.
The Weed Killer in Your Bread
Florida didn't stop at baby formula.
Six out of eight popular bread brands tested positive for glyphosate – that's Roundup, the weed killer used to kill plants before harvest.
Nature's Own, Dave's Killer Bread, Wonder Bread, Sara Lee – all of them.
Read the warning label on a bottle of Roundup and it tells you to avoid skin contact and don't inhale it.
But somehow, according to the food companies, it's fine in your daily toast.
"It kills plants, and so there's no reason why any of that should be in any product that we're consuming," Casey DeSantis said.
A 2025 study found glyphosate raises the risk of chronic liver disease even at low exposure levels.
Separately, California researchers found that pregnant women living within 1.2 miles of fields sprayed with glyphosate were 30% more likely to have children with severe autism.

Your Kids' Halloween Candy Has Arsenic In It
Florida tested 46 top candy products and found arsenic – a known human carcinogen – in 28 of them.
That's 60%.
Laffy Taffy, Nerds, SweeTarts, Jolly Ranchers, Twizzlers, Kit Kat, Snickers, Skittles, Sour Patch Kids.
Casey DeSantis walked through the math on Nerds specifically: eating more than 96 individual Nerds in a year puts a child over Florida's safe arsenic threshold.
A movie theater box of Nerds contains 8,000 pieces.
One box exposes a child to more than 83 times their safe annual arsenic limit – from a single snack.

Why Florida Had to Do This Themselves
The FDA's last comprehensive review of infant formula ingredients was in 1998 – when Bill Clinton was still in the White House.
RFK Jr. launched "Operation Stork Speed" in March 2025 specifically because Washington had completely abandoned American families on this issue, and he's now working directly with Florida to expand WIC formula options so parents can switch away from contaminated products.
The food companies' response to Florida's findings tells you everything.
Enfamil's parent company Mead Johnson complained that Florida announced results without sharing detailed methodology – as if the numbers themselves were beside the point.

They've been selling products with mercury and arsenic in them, and their concern is how Florida ran the math.
Florida just proved what RFK Jr. and the MAHA movement have been saying all along: the food industry has been poisoning American children while Washington looked the other way, and it took a state government to finally turn on the lights.
