Charlie Crist never expected to be fact checked by the media for telling this one big lie about Ron DeSantis

The corporate-controlled media is in the back pocket of the Democrat Party.

Democrats can usually count on media elites to do their bidding.

But Charlie Crist never expected to be fact checked by the media for telling this one big lie about Ron DeSantis.

After becoming a rock star in the Republican Party over the past two years, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is facing his first reelection this fall.

Congressman Charlie Crist and Agricultural Commissioner Nikki Fried are the two Democrats running for the opportunity to take on DeSantis this fall.

With just over a month left until the Democrat Primary, polling shows Charlie Crist is the clear frontrunner in the race.

But that’s not the only polling Charlie Crist claims he’s leading.

Crist recently misrepresented the results of a poll by claiming he was leading Ron DeSantis in a head-to-head matchup.

“Charlie Crist is in this race to defeat Ron DeSantis, and this secret GOP poll shows that he’s doing exactly that,” Crist spokesperson Samantha Ramirez told Village News. “This GOP poll shows Floridians are tired of DeSantis’ singular, selfish focus on the 2024 Presidential election and ready to usher in a new leader that can actually address the real affordability burdens Floridians are dealing with all across the Sunshine State,” she continued, before adding that “Charlie is the experienced fighter Floridians need and want in Tallahassee right now.”

It didn’t take long for national Democrats to pick up on Ramirez’s comment to Village News.

The news soon spread like wildfire on social media.

“BREAKING: Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis’ re-election chances are put in major jeopardy as a new poll of Florida voters shows that he’s losing to Democrat Charlie Crist, who is at 48% of the vote compared to DeSantis’ 47%. RT IF YOU HOPE THAT DESANTIS LOSES IN NOVEMBER!” Occupy Democrats wrote on Twitter.

However, there’s a major problem with Crist’s claim.

It’s not true.

And in a surprising move, Newsweek fact checked Charlie Crist over his claim by labeling it “mostly false.”

“First of all, the 1 percent lead is effectively negligible, given the poll’s margin of error of +/- 2.9 percent,” Newsweek wrote.

“Additionally, the methodology used also raises some questions: The poll didn’t screen for likely voters, meaning that it does not factor in a potential turnout gap between Republicans and Democrats in the election,” it continued.

The poll was conducted by veteran GOP pollster Tony Fabrizio, who worked for Donald Trump’s campaign in 2016.

Fabrizio also told Newsweek that Crist’s claim was untrue because of how the poll was conducted.

“Note that the data is from surveys of Registered voters and NOT likely voters. So it is highly likely that DeSantis would fare a bit better among a likely voter sample,” Fabrizio said.

Contrary to what Crist claims, polls show DeSantis handily defeating both he and Fried in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup.

But DeSantis’ main goal is no longer just getting re-elected, which he should easily achieve.

DeSantis is now determined to win by a large enough margin to turn Florida from a “swing state” into a “solid red state.”
