Ron DeSantis is facing re-election for another term as Governor this fall.
Democrat Charlie Crist is hoping to defeat DeSantis.
And Charlie Crist went on MSNBC and made one outrageous claim about defeating Ron DeSantis.
After Donald Trump’s endorsement catapulted him to victory in the Republican Primary, Ron DeSantis went on to win the General Election by a razor-thin margin of 0.4%, making him Florida’s 46th Governor.
However, since his election in 2018, Ron DeSantis has risen to rock star status in the Republican Party over his leadership and willingness to take on the woke Left and win.
Ron DeSantis is so popular that polls show if Donald Trump decides not to run for President again in 2024, he would be the clear frontrunner for the GOP nomination.
But before he can think about running for President, DeSantis is facing his first re-election for Governor in November.
Agricultural Commissioner Nikki Fried and Congressman Charlie Crist are the top two Democrats running in the upcoming August 23 Primary for the opportunity to take on DeSantis this fall.
Congressman Charlie Crist, who previously served as the Republican Governor of Florida before switching parties, is the frontrunner to win the Democrat nomination.
Charlie Crist is leading Nikki Fried by nearly 10 points in the latest polls, and was also recently endorsed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
During a recent appearance on MSNBC, Crist not only smeared Ron DeSantis, but also told host Mehdi Hasan one outrageous claim about his chances of upsetting the Governor in November.
After mentioning that DeSantis narrowly won by 0.4% in 2018, Hasan told Crist that DeSantis has since become wildly popular over his fight against the Left on several issues important to Republican voters.
“He’s not,” Crist shot back in response to Hasan saying that Ron DeSantis is very popular among voters in Florida.
Crist then made the outrageous claim that “the latest poll I have seen has us down to him only by three.”
Of course, Crist claiming DeSantis is only leading him by three points is laughable at best.
Multiple polls show DeSantis leading both potential Democrat opponents by 9 to 13 points in a hypothetical matchup.
Polls also show Ron DeSantis’ approval rating is steadily improving, with 52% of voters approving of the job he’s doing as Governor compared to just 42% who disapprove.
DeSantis is also crushing the Democrats when it comes to fundraising, with a record-breaking haul of over $115 million raised so far for his re-election efforts.
Charlie Crist can try to spin the facts all he wants.
But no matter how you look at it, Ron DeSantis is on the path to victory in November.
