Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie entered the Presidential race to try and stop Donald Trump from winning the GOP nomination.
But even though stopping Trump is his only mission, Christie is also taking swipes at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
And Chris Christie said five words about Ron DeSantis that he will live to regret.
RINO Chris Christie believes he is the only Republican who can stop Donald Trump in the Republican Presidential Primary.
Chris Christie recently sat down for an interview with Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier.
Christie kicked off the interview by claiming that he is now in second place with DeSantis and is gaining ground on Trump.
Baier countered Christie’s claim by reminding him that “when you say take on Donald Trump, I mean, you look at all these polls, whether it’s the national polls or in New Hampshire or Iowa, I mean, he’s up 20, 30, 40 key points.”
Christie tried to brush off Trump’s lead by claiming that “the campaign hasn’t begun yet.”
“The campaign is going to begin when you and Martha [MacCallum] get on that stage with the rest of us two weeks from tonight,” Christie added, referencing the August 23 Presidential debate.
Of course, Donald Trump is planning to skip the debate due to his massive lead over the rest of the field.
Christie told Baier he believes Trump skipping the debate “shows his complete lack of respect for Republican voters.”
Baier also brought up a new poll showing Christie tied for third with South Carolina Senator Tim Scott.
The poll found Trump leading with 41.7%, DeSantis in second with 17.5%, and Christie and Scott tied for third with 6.7%.
However, Christie flat-out rejected the poll and claimed he is tied with DeSantis for second.
“Bret, rather, in just the last two days, there have been two more polls that have come out that now have me tied for second with Governor DeSantis, one at 11 percent and one at 9 percent,” Christie replied. “So we feel like it’s really moving in our direction,” he continued, before adding that “our momentum is going the right way, Governor DeSantis’ is going in the wrong direction.”
Christie said passing DeSantis is now his campaign’s number-one priority.
“So our first job is to get past Governor DeSantis in New Hampshire,” Christie said. “Now, we need to pass him, and then we’re going to take on Donald Trump, one-on-one.”
Chris Christie is in for a brutal reality check if he thinks he can beat DeSantis or Trump.
A recent poll showed Christie is the least popular candidate in the entire field.
But Christie refuses to believe the polls.
And he will have to learn his lesson the hard way.
