Governor Ron DeSantis announced last week that Florida would be the only state to not recommend COVID vaccines to children under 5.
This sent the left-wing media into a frenzy.
And Christina Pushaw just ripped The New Yorker for spreading this blatant lie about Ron DeSantis and vaccines for children.
Christina Pushaw, who serves as Press Secretary for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, does not shy away from calling out Democrats and members of the Fake News Media for their hypocrisy and outright lies.
On Monday, Pushaw ripped The New Yorker for running a false story claiming that Ron DeSantis switched his position on recommending the COVID vaccine for children under five due to being “overwhelmed by criticism.”
The New Yorker was referring to DeSantis’ announcement last week that Florida would be the only state in the country to officially recommend against vaccinating young children for COVID.
“This month, as vaccines were approved for children younger than five, every state in the country rushed to order supplies – except for Florida, where Ron DeSantis resisted until he was overwhelmed by criticism,” The New Yorker wrote.
However, this is patently false.
Ron DeSantis is not one to be swayed by pressure from the media and the Left.
Contrary to The New Yorker’s claim, DeSantis hasn’t changed his position.
And Christina Pushaw ripped The New Yorker for spreading a “blatant lie” about DeSantis.
“This is a blatant lie from Dexter Filkins at @NewYorker. They did NOT fact-check this story- neither with our office, nor FL Dept of Health.
Governor DeSantis’ & State of Florida’s position on child Covid vaccines HAS NOT CHANGED. And he’s never been ‘overwhelmed by criticism,’” Pushaw Tweeted.

During a press conference Monday morning in Callahan, Florida, Ron DeSantis echoed Pushaw by declaring that he has not changed his position on vaccinating children under five for COVID.
“So the White House is lying about it,” DeSantis responded to a reporter who asked him if reports were true about him changing his position.
“We are not going to have any programs where we’re trying to jab six month old babies with MRNA,” DeSantis continued, adding “that’s just the reality.”
DeSantis then explained that even though Florida would not be recommending the vaccine for children and there would be no state operations promoting it, no one is prohibited from vaccinating their children.
“I said from the beginning that they’ll be able to do that,” DeSantis said about parents who want to vaccinate their children.
DeSantis also cautioned these parents to carefully look into the data before choosing to vaccinate their young children for COVID.
“We don’t have the authority to prevent it, and quite frankly, if someone wants to make a different decision, I would advise them to look at the actual data in the clinical trial,” DeSantis said. “It is the weakest data that you could possibly see.”
The Democrats are clearly terrified of Ron DeSantis.
Just like they did to Trump when he was President, the left-wing media is spreading lies about DeSantis in an effort to take him down.
And if DeSantis keeps surging in popularity with voters nationwide, the Fake News Media will certainly make up more lies and smears against him.
