Disney is trying to right the ship after years of struggles from going woke.
But the company continues to step on rakes as it tries to make a comeback.
And Disney CEO’s worst nightmare came true after an actress made this woke confession.
Disney star sinks new Marvel series before it is even released
Disney has dealt with financial turmoil in recent years after the company began to prioritize injecting a woke political message into its content over delivering the family-friendly content that made it an entertainment powerhouse.
The company’s movies and TV shows have bombed after they began pushing radical gender ideologies and other LGBTQ content.
But instead of reversing course, the company has continued to churn out woke content that audiences do not want.
The Star Wars series The Acolyte on the Disney+ streaming service was billed as the “gayest Star Wars” production ever.
Promotion for the series centered around how “gay” it was by its creator and the cast.
The Acolyte bombed with audiences and was canceled after one season.
Disney shelled a staggering $180 million for eight episodes.
The costly failure of The Acolyte should have served as a warning for Disney.
But the woke entertainment company is traveling down the same path with another show.
The new Disney+ series Agatha All Along was called by one of its stars as “the gayest project Marvel has ever done.”
Actress Sasheer Zamata, who plays sorceress Jennifer Kale, told Variety on the red carpet for the show’s premiere that “witches are inherently queer.”
“I think witches are queer inherently just because we are outcasts and like, set aside for many reasons,” Zamata said. “I think this show shows a really good representation of different types of people and that we can all use the power we have within to like, go forth and be great.”
Disney refuses to learn its lesson
Actor Joe Locke plays a gay character in the show named Teen.
“It’s got many layers and gay is one of them. That’s one of the great things about the show,” Locke said. “Teen is a queer guy on the show, but it’s not the driving force, which I think is really great. It’s really nice to just have these positive queer characters.”
Actress Aubrey Plaza promised a “gay explosion” by the end of the series.
Agatha All Along is a follow-up to the 2021 Marvel series Wandavision.
Instead of discussing the story or the characters, the show’s promotion is based on how gay it is.
Disney is repeating the failed strategy of The Acolyte.
Audiences are interested in compelling stories and characters not how woke a series is or how much diversity it has.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe was once one of the most surefire generators of blockbusters in Hollywood with hits like Iron Man and The Avengers.
But the franchise’s popularity and box office success collapsed after it became obsessed with pushing unpopular female characters.
Disney continues to push woke content that audiences have rejected repeatedly.
