Donald Trump recently declared war on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
But there’s one major problem with Trump’s line of attack.
And Donald Trump is embarrassed over a viral video showing him repeatedly refer to Ron DeSantis by these two words.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is the only Republican who poses a real threat to Donald Trump for the GOP nomination in 2024.
Even though DeSantis is keeping quiet about his plans, he is expected to announce his candidacy after the end of the current legislative session.
But since Donald Trump knows that DeSantis is the one Republican who could stop him from winning the nomination, he’s already directing most of his attacks at the Florida Governor.
On Friday, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung went on Fox News and launched a new round of attacks against DeSantis.
“The real DeSantis record is one of misery and despair,” Cheung told host Neil Cavuto. “He has left a wake of destruction all across Florida and people are hurting because he has spent more time playing public relations games instead of actually doing the hard-work needed to improve the lives of the people he represents.”
In a statement released by Trump’s campaign, the former President accused DeSantis of running “a weeks-long shadow campaign for President” that allowed Florida “to tumble into complete and total delinquency and destruction.”
“On DeSantis’ watch, Florida has become one of the least affordable states to live in the country,” the statement read.
However, a video compilation recently surfaced on Twitter that shows Trump singing a different tune about DeSantis over the past two years.
“SUPERCUT: President Trump explains why he chooses to live in Florida,” the account Facts Nordau posted on Twitter along with the video of Trump saying “one of the greatest governors in our country—and I know a lot of good ones, and I can tell you there are some really bad ones too—but this is a great one: Governor Ron DeSantis.”

But that was just one clip.
“Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis has done a spectacular job in Florida,” Trump said in another old clip from the Oval Office with DeSantis sitting next to him. “He enjoys very high popularity and that’s for a reason,” Trump continued, before adding that “the reason is he’s doing a good job.”
Another video shows Trump on the campaign trail referring to DeSantis as one of the “greatest Governors” in America.
After spending the past few years bragging about DeSantis’ leadership, Trump is now claiming he ran Florida into the dump.
But thanks to one social media user, a viral video reminded Republicans of what Donald Trump really thinks about the “greatest Governor” in the country, Ron DeSantis.
And Trump reaffirmed this in a rally just hours after he released the statement attacking DeSantis.
“I’m thrilled to be here with the proud, hard-working patriots of the great state of Florida,” Trump told an audience during remarks at the Lee County Lincoln-Reagan Dinner in Ft. Myers. “It’s a great state, great place.”
