Donald Trump was fuming when Ron DeSantis used a baseball analogy to take a swipe at his age

Baseball has always been a part of Ron DeSantis’ life.

DeSantis played in the Little League World Series and starred as the captain of the baseball team at Yale.

But Donald Trump was fuming when Ron DeSantis used a baseball analogy to take a swipe at his age.

Donald Trump’s decision to skip the first two Republican Presidential Primary debates did not sit well with his GOP opponents.

Trump cited his massive lead in the polls as the main reason for refusing to appear on stage and participate in the debates.

Donald Trump is also planning to skip the third GOP debate coming up on November 8 in Miami, Florida.

But Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is doing his best to goad Donald Trump into debating him on November 8.

DeSantis recently told reporters in Iowa that Joe Biden whipped Donald Trump in the debate held in October of 2020.

“Remember, in October of 2020 that first debate with Biden, Biden beat him in that debate,” DeSantis told reporters in Iowa. “And that was really incredible that he allowed that to happen.”

“I think that had a real significant impact in the election,” DeSantis continued. “And we saw in Florida, Trump’s numbers started to decline after that.”

And on a trip to New Hampshire on Tuesday, DeSantis ripped Trump and accused him of being “wedded to the teleprompter.”

“What Donald Trump does now is, he is wedded to the teleprompter, he can’t get off that teleprompter,” DeSantis said. “This is a different Donald Trump than in 2015 and 2016.”

“He’s lost the zip on his fastball and has a sense of entitlement,” DeSantis added.

At another event that day, DeSantis touted himself as the one to “unite the Party.”

“In January when we have the New Hampshire primary, we need to nominate somebody who’s going to be able to unite this party, win the election and ultimately, unite this country,” he said.

“It’s about results and I will deliver the results to you,” DeSantis said.

DeSantis warned that all of the candidates will talk a good game on the campaign trail, but that he is the one who has a record to prove he means business.

“We have a lot of people that will chirp during the campaign season and I think it’s, like, who do you trust to actually deliver the results?” DeSantis told the crowd.

DeSantis is ramping up his attacks on Trump as the Iowa Caucus gets closer by the day.

And only time will tell if DeSantis will be able to close the gap and give Trump a battle for the nomination.
