Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis are both running to take Joe Biden’s job.
But DeSantis believes Joe Biden and Donald Trump are similar in one important way.
And Donald Trump was furious after Ron DeSantis compared him to Joe Biden in this one damning way.
Joe Biden’s Presidency has been a disaster for the country.
The border crisis is out of control, with record breaking numbers of illegal aliens entering the country since Biden took office.
Crime, drug use, and homelessness are surging in Democrat-led cities.
Inflation is high and many Americans are struggling to make ends meet.
And the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine has the American people more concerned about a nuclear war breaking out than any time in recent memory.
But Joe Biden is running for re-election and asking voters to give him four more years in the Oval Office.
However, polls show three-fourths of Americans already believe Joe Biden is too old to serve another term in the White House.
Biden turned 81 on Thursday and is clearly suffering from severely declining mental and physical abilities.
But Florida Governor Ron DeSantis believes Joe Biden is not the only candidate in the race who is too old to serve as President.
In an interview Sunday with CNN’s Jake Tapper, DeSantis said Donald Trump was not exempt from criticism over his age.
“I just think that that’s something that has been shown with Joe Biden,” DeSantis said. “Father Time is undefeated,” he continued. “Donald Trump is not exempt from any of that.”
DeSantis, who is 45, said he is in the “prime of my life,” before adding that the Presidency is “not a job for somebody that is pushing 80.”
“I will serve two terms, deliver big results, and get the country moving again,” DeSantis told CNN. “That’s what Republican voters want to see.”
Donald Trump is currently 77 years old.
If elected in 2024, DeSantis pointed out that Trump would actually be older than Biden was when he began his term in 2021.
DeSantis also predicted that Donald Trump would lose to Biden.
“I wouldn’t be running unless I thought that the Democrats would beat Trump if he were the nominee,” he said. “You’re gonna see scorched earth.”
“You’re gonna see all this stuff brought out from the past,” DeSantis concluded.
Of course, the polls show Donald Trump beating Biden in five of the top six battleground states.
But DeSantis is hoping to cut into Trump’s lead in the Primary by pointing out the similarity in age between him and Biden.
