Donald Trump has ambitious goals he wants to achieve in his second term.
He is not going to have to do it alone.
And Florida announced it was ready to provide backup for Donald Trump in this major fight.
Ron DeSantis announces plan for Florida to help with Trump’s deportation effort
President-elect Donald Trump is going to begin securing the border and kick off his plan for the mass deportation of illegal aliens on his first day in office.
The more cooperation that the Trump administration gets from states, the easier it will be to deport illegal aliens.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that he was calling a special session of the State Legislature so the Sunshine State is “ready to carry out President Trump’s immigration policies as soon as possible.”
He wants Florida to lead the way in carrying out Trump’s policies.
Trump met with Republican Governors ahead of his inauguration about his agenda.
DeSantis revealed that the Trump administration is going to “provide a level of empowerment for state and local governments” to crack down on illegal immigration.
“We have a responsibility to be in this fight,” DeSantis said. “State and local officials in Florida must help the Trump administration enforce our nation’s immigration laws. In order to do that effectively we are going to need legislation to impose additional duties on local officials and provide funding for those local officials.”
He wanted to use the special session to make it a state crime to enter Florida illegally, broaden the definition of gang-related activities to include more illegal aliens, and require law enforcement to participate in enforcement efforts, among other measures.
Florida is ready to step up and do its part to remove illegal aliens.
RINOs in the Florida Legislature protest special session
The RINO leadership in the Florida Legislature put out a statement calling a special session “premature” after DeSantis called for it.
RINO Florida Speaker of the State House Speaker Daniel Perez and RINO State Senate President Ben Albritton issued a joint statement claiming they supported Trump’s agenda but argued the special session was unnecessary.
They claimed everything that DeSantis proposed could wait until the regular session of the legislature begins in March.
“As the people’s elected representatives, the Legislature, not the governor, will decide when and what legislation to consider,” Perez and Albritton wrote.
DeSantis put them on notice for trying to slow play his plan to crack down on illegal immigration.
He warned that voters would hold Republicans accountable who did not back the special session.
“You’re basically saying after four years of Biden’s really destructive immigration and border policies that it’s somehow premature for us to act with a new President coming in. Are you kidding me?” DeSantis asked.
Trump thanked DeSantis for calling the special session on Truth Social which put pressure on the RINOs.
DeSantis revealed that Florida sheriffs were eager to help.
“It will also require some funding,” DeSantis explained. “Not a lot of funding, but I have a lot of sheriffs that are chomping at the bit; they want to be able to help, and they just need a little bit of funding.”
Florida can be the tip of the spear for Donald Trump’s plan for the mass deportation of illegal aliens.
