Ron DeSantis is a rock star among Republican voters nationwide.
The Left makes him out to be a monster.
But Florida continues to break records in one area that proves the Left is wrong about Ron DeSantis.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is loved by most Republican voters across the country for his leadership during the pandemic and his willingness to take on the Left and win.
DeSantis refused to enforce lockdowns, keeping Florida’s businesses and schools open during the pandemic when other states were under forced closures.
He banned masks and vaccine mandates in Florida, and filed lawsuits against Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate for healthcare workers.
And in recent months, DeSantis became the leader in the fight against the Left’s woke ideology.
He removed Critical Race Theory from Florida’s schools, signed a bill prohibiting biological males from competing in women’s sports, and also signed legislation prohibiting the teaching of gender and sexuality to children in kindergarten through third grade.
But while Ron DeSantis is a darling among Republican voters for his leadership, he has become the top villain of the Democrats and radical Left.
For the past two years, the Left has used Ron DeSantis as a political punching bag, attacking every move he makes.
They’ve called him every name in the book, from “hateful” to “authoritarian” to “racist.”
However, even though the Left makes DeSantis out to be a villain, the American people continue to visit Florida in record-breaking numbers, proving the Left is dead wrong about the Governor.
In fact, according to the latest data, 36 million people visited Florida between January and March of 2022 alone, which is a 14% increase from Q4 in 2021, and “the third consecutive quarter that overall visitation has surpassed pre-pandemic levels.”
“Approximately 34.1 million domestic visitors traveled to Florida in Q1 2022, representing twelve solid months of domestic visitation growth from 2019, with no signs of slowing,” read a press release from DeSantis’ office.
“Florida’s latest visitation estimates are incredible news for our economy and all Floridians,” DeSantis said.
“Economists originally projected that Florida tourism wouldn’t fully recover until 2024, but quarter after quarter, despite the Biden administration’s utter failure to manage inflation and the nation’s supply chain woes, Florida’s visitation numbers continue to break records and defy conventional wisdom,” he continued.
DeSantis credited Florida’s freedom-first policies for the rise in the number of people visiting the Sunshine State.
“Florida’s tourism industry begins 2022 with incredible strength, proving that freedom first policies will always win, especially when combating the inept economic policies coming out of D.C.” DeSantis added.
