Joe Biden closed out his Presidency with a bang.
He created a tough situation for his party in the last place they could afford it.
And Florida Democrats declared war on Joe Biden after he made this awful last-minute move.
Joe Biden throws communist Cuba a lifeline
Former President Joe Biden made a surprising decision to remove Cuba from the State Department’s list of State Sponsors of Terrorism and ease some of the economic sanctions against the country.
The communist government has supported violent left-wing revolutionaries in Latin America and Africa for decades along with harboring terrorists.
Biden’s betrayal was reportedly part of a deal negotiated by Pope Francis for the Cuban government to free hundreds of political prisoners.
President Donald Trump is expected to swiftly revoke Biden’s actions.
But the damage from Biden’s pro-communist actions will linger in the Sunshine State.
Florida Democrats have watched their state slip away from them over the past decade.
Biden’s Cuba move was another punch in the gut to the state party.
About 20% of Florida voters are Hispanic and many escaped from totalitarian socialist regimes and left-wing violence in Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Colombia.
“This is Joe Biden literally sinking the Democratic Party in the state of Florida. Big time,” Representative Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) told Axios.
He said that other Democrats in South Florida, where his congressional district lies, feel the same way.
“Just as we try to patch the hole in the boat, Biden punches another hole in it,” Moskowitz said. “Florida is a red state, and Biden just waved the white flag of surrender.”
Trump carried Florida with 55% of the vote in the 2024 Election and won a majority of Hispanic voters in the state.
He won Miami-Dade County by 11 points which has a large Cuban-American population after he lost it by nearly eight points in the 2020 Election.
Florida Democrats’ slide into irrelevance continues
Florida Democratic Party chair Nikki Fried said she was “disappointed” in Biden’s decision.
“We condemn in the strongest terms Cuba’s removal from this list, as well as any possible lifting of economic sanctions, and call on the Biden Administration to reverse course immediately,” Fried wrote in a statement.
Florida Democrat strategist Christian Ulvert said the Biden White House “delivered a master class of what not to do.”
The move happened the night before Trump’s nominee for Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the son of two Cuban immigrants, had his Senate confirmation hearing.
“The Biden administration might see this as an ‘F You’ to Rubio, but we’ll get the last laugh,” Trump’s Latin American envoy Mauricio Claver-Carone said.
Biden delivered another blow to Florida Democrats who are trying to escape being branded as socialists and communists with a decision that will be reserved under Trump.
Florida used to be the biggest swing state in the country for decades with the winner often claiming the Presidency.
Republicans combined with Democrat incompetence have helped turn the Sunshine State a bright shade of red and take it off the political playing field.
