Florida lawmakers just dropped this jaw-dropping ban that has leftists fuming

Governor Ron DeSantis is about to receive a bill that will make climate activists see red.

The legislation takes direct aim at secretive government programs that many Americans have been warning about for years.

And Florida lawmakers just dropped this jaw-dropping ban that has leftists fuming.

Florida Legislature passes bill banning weather modification and geoengineering

The Florida House of Representatives passed a sweeping bill Wednesday that would ban all weather modification and geoengineering activities throughout the state.

The legislation, which passed by a decisive 82-28 vote, now heads to Governor Ron DeSantis’ desk for final approval.

Senate Bill 56 prohibits the “injection, release, or dispersion of substances into the atmosphere” that could alter temperature, weather, climate, or sunlight intensity within Florida’s borders.

Violators could face serious consequences, including third-degree felony charges punishable by up to five years imprisonment and fines up to $100,000.

The Department of Environmental Protection would be tasked with setting up reporting mechanisms for citizens to alert authorities about suspicious activities.

Representative Kevin Steele, one of the bill’s House sponsors, defended the legislation against left-wing critics, arguing that it’s about protecting Floridians from unknown chemicals being released into the air they breathe.

“I don’t think that we should have 140 airports – 140 airports, which means 1.07 airports in your district, less than two, dictate whether or not we put something in place to enforce a law that’s going to protect 200,000 constituents in your area,” Steele declared on the House floor.

Democrats claim the bill promotes “conspiracy theories”

Not everyone was on board with the measure.

Democrat Representative Anna Eskamani attacked the bill, claiming that it feeds into “conspiracy theories” rather than being based on science.

“The fact that this bill doesn’t require the consultation of a meteorologist, the consultation of scientists to say, ‘is this a suspicious activity?’ is absolutely going to create an environment where things will be reported, nonstop, bogging down the department, and now potentially bogging down law enforcement, who have a lot of more important work to do, like going after violent crime,” Eskamani complained.

In a pointed response to these criticisms, Representative Steele reminded his colleagues about recent history by stating that the last time legislators “listened to science, we wore masks” for nearly a year.

Weather modification is real and happening in Florida

Contrary to what some Democrats suggest, weather modification isn’t just a conspiracy theory.

It’s a documented practice that is already happening in multiple states.

During the debate, Steele said that “a specialist who works for the company Make it Rain, does weather modification in Florida and seven other states, and there are a lot of chemicals that are used.”

The legislation would effectively end these operations in Florida, giving residents more control over what substances are released into the atmosphere above their communities.

If signed by Governor DeSantis, Florida would join a growing list of states taking action against potential environmental manipulation without clear public oversight or consent.

Measure requires airport monitoring for suspicious aircraft

Another key provision of the bill requires operators of publicly owned airports to report monthly to the Department of Transportation about the presence of any aircraft equipped for geoengineering or weather modification.

This oversight mechanism aims to catch potential violators before they can release substances into Florida’s atmosphere.

The legislation also repeals existing weather modification laws by replacing them with this more comprehensive and stringent framework.

Governor DeSantis previously voiced his opposition to weather modification.

“I support the bill by Senator @IleanaGarciaUSA  to ban geoengineering and weather modification,” DeSantis wrote alongside a video he posted on X. “The Florida house, though, has gutted the bill and actually codified the practices.”

DeSantis has not yet indicated whether he will sign this bill, but given his strong stance on protecting Florida’s environmental sovereignty, many expect he will support the measure.
