Ron DeSantis is a rock star among Republican voters nationwide.
Republican voters like that DeSantis is willing to take the lead on important issues like COVID mandates and brainwashing children with the Left’s woke ideology.
But jaws dropped when a Republican Governor went on CNN and attacked Ron DeSantis over this one issue.
There is no elected official in the country more popular than Ron DeSantis.
Despite facing a constant barrage of lies and smears for more than two years, DeSantis is stronger and more popular now than ever before.
DeSantis’ surging popularity is troubling to Never-Trumpers and RINOs.
And during an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union, Arkansas Republican Governor Asa Hutchinson criticized Ron DeSantis for revoking Disney’s special privileges and self-governing status.
“First of all, Disney has handled this very poorly,” Gov. Asa Hutchinson began.
“Secondly, the law that was passed is, to me, common sense that in those grades, those lower grades, you shouldn’t be teaching sexual orientation and those matters that should not be covered in – at that age,” Hutchinson continued.
Hutchinson then went on to smear DeSantis for how he handled the situation with Disney.
“But I don’t believe that the government should be punitive against private businesses because we disagree with them. That’s not the right approach either,” Hutchinson added. “And so, to me, that’s the old Republican principle of having a restrained government.”
Hutchinson’s response surprised CNN host Dana Bash, who followed up by asking him, “So DeSantis overstepped?”
“Well, I disagree with it,” Hutchinson responded. “I disagree with a punitive approach to businesses.”
Governor @AsaHutchinson breaks with his fellow GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis, telling @DanaBashCNN it’s a mistake for Republicans to “go after businesses and punish them because we disagree with what they said.” #CNNSOTU https://t.co/bkId37Bw13

Of course, this isn’t the first time Asa Hutchinson sided with Joe Biden and the Democrats.
During the pandemic, after he participated on a call with the Biden administration, Hutchinson praised Joe Biden for allegedly “depoliticizing” COVID.
Hutchinson also openly admitted that he regretted signing a bill that banned mask mandates in Arkansas.
But it’s not just on COVID mandates and restrictions where Hutchinson sides with the Left.
Hutchinson also vetoed a bill that would have prohibited minor children from having sex-change surgery in the state.
Opposing COVID mandates and fighting the Left’s woke ideology are two of the main issues where Ron DeSantis is leading the fight for conservatives.
So the fact that Hutchinson went on CNN to criticize DeSantis over his handling of Disney’s special privileges shouldn’t be all too surprising given his history of cozying up to the Left.
