Ron DeSantis is leading the charge in Florida to take back control of education from the woke Left.
Democrats and the left-wing activists in the media are in a frenzy.
But jaws hit the floor when a Democrat official in Florida used this one word to describe the black history course Ron DeSantis rejected.
Ron DeSantis set off a firestorm on the Left when he rejected an AP black history course because it violated the Stop WOKE Act he signed last year that bans the teaching of Marxist-based Critical Race Theory and other woke garbage in government schools.
The course framework included lessons about the origins and impacts of the Black Lives Matter movement, “queer theory,” and other woke insanity.
“As submitted, the course is a vehicle for a political agenda and leaves large, ambiguous gaps that can be filled with additional ideological material, which we will not allow,” DeSantis’ Press Secretary Bryan Griffin said at the time. “As Governor DeSantis has stated, our classrooms will be a place for education, not indoctrination.”
Even though the Left erupted with rage at DeSantis, the College Board agreed to make significant changes to the curriculum and recently resubmitted a new version to the administration for approval.
But not all Democrats disagree with DeSantis’ decision to reject the course.
Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor is a black Democrat with years of experience teaching African American history.
During the closing minutes of a recent Leon County Commission meeting, Proctor addressed the course rejected by DeSantis.
“There is grave concern about the tone and the tenor of leadership’s voice from the highest spaces in our state being hostile to teaching of African American history,” Proctor began.
However, Proctor defended DeSantis by declaring his strong opposition to the curriculum, which he called “trash.”
“Well frankly I’m against the College Board’s curriculum,” Proctor said. “I think it’s trash.”
Proctor agreed with DeSantis’ description of the curriculum as left-wing propaganda.
“It’s not African American history – it is ideology,” he said. “I’ve taught African American history, I’ve structured syllabuses for African American history.”
Proctor then ripped the left-wing gender insanity for claiming to be oppressed in society.
“I am African American history,” he declared. “And talking about ‘queer’ and ‘feminism’ and all of that for the struggle for freedom and equality and justice has not been no tension with queerness and feminist thought at all.”
More and more Americans are growing fed up with the Left pushing their woke ideology into every subject and every area of society.
And as Bill Proctor showed, even some Democrats oppose the Left’s woke nonsense in education.
