Florida's socialists just showed their hand.
Now the Vice President of the United States is heading straight to Lakeland to make sure every conservative in the Sunshine State remembers exactly what's on the ballot in November.
JD Vance is coming to Florida – and the socialists running have no answer for what comes next.
The Socialist Problem Democrats Created for Themselves
Florida Democrats handed Republicans the perfect weapon.
State Rep. Angie Nixon – a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America – just won the Democrat Senate primary in a state Donald Trump carried by 13 points.
That's not a fringe outcome.
That's the face of the Florida Democrat Party in 2026.
RNC spokeswoman Emma Hall didn't mince words.
“President Trump and Vice President Vance are barnstorming the country to promote the America First agenda, support Republican candidates, and make the choice clear for voters this November: common sense vs. crazy,” Hall told Florida’s Voice. "Far-left hacks like Angie Nixon and David Jolly are fighting to turn Florida into a socialist hellscape and tanking every Democrat on the ballot."
Jolly, a former Republican congressman who switched parties in 2025, is now the Democrat nominee for governor against Trump-endorsed Byron Donalds.
Florida Republicans have a word for all of it: ammunition.
"Florida Republicans don't sit on the sidelines, we show up," Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power said. “Vice President Vance knows that, which is why he’s coming to Lakeland. Bring a friend, fill that room, and show the country that Florida Republicans are ready to win in November.”
Why Lakeland and Why Now
The Trump 47 Committee announced the rally Monday – October 1, Lakeland, free admission, doors at 9 a.m., main event at 11:30.

Donalds – who'd be Florida's first Black governor if elected – welcomed Vance personally.
"I look forward to seeing [Vance] in Lakeland and [Trump] out on the trail in Florida!" Donalds posted. "We are going to KEEP FLORIDA RED!"
“Having the president come to Florida, give that little bit, that last, that jolt of energy to make sure people get out and vote. That’s important,” Donalds said.
Trump is scheduled to headline additional Florida events in the coming weeks ahead of November 3.
Vance has been logging serious miles for the midterms.
He delivered a full convention address in Dallas September 10, where he hammered Democrats as "crazies" and urged Republicans to keep "the party of common sense" in power.
He launched the push from his hometown of Middletown, Ohio – the steel town from Hillbilly Elegy – where he touted a $1 billion manufacturing investment at the plant where his grandfather once worked.
Florida is now the next stop – and arguably the most consequential one.
What's Actually at Stake
Republicans hold a razor-thin majority in the House. Every seat matters.
Florida's Republican voter registration advantage tops 1.5 million.
Donalds leads Jolly by double digits in current polling.
The Cook Political Report rates the governor's race Solid Republican.
But "solid" doesn't mean automatic.
Democrats are counting on Republican complacency.

Florida should be easy – but when your opponent nominates a DSA member for Senate and a party-switcher for governor, you don't assume.
You show up and close the door.
The midterms decide whether Trump has a Congress that supports him or one that stalls – or impeaches – him for the final two years of his presidency.
Florida's Republicans have the numbers to send a message that the socialist experiment the left is running has a hard ceiling in America.
Vance lands Thursday to deliver it.
