Laken Riley, Jocelyn Nungaray, and a 2-year-old boy were shot dead in Maryland while Democrats ignored an ICE detainer.
Now add a three-year-old boy in Florida – beaten, burned, and broken by the man Biden released into this country.
That little boy is dead, and the man who killed him never should have been here.
Biden Caught Him Twice and Let Him Go Both Times
Samuel Antonio Maldonado-Erazo, 28, a Honduran national, crossed the border illegally in August 2021.
Border Patrol caught him. The Biden administration removed him.
He came back three months later.
Border Patrol caught him again in November 2021.
This time, instead of detention and removal, the Biden administration handed him a Notice to Appear and released him into the country – with his own daughter along for the ride.
An immigration judge ordered him deported in May 2023 after he failed to show up in court. Nobody came to get him.
So he stayed in Cantonment, Florida.
And a three-year-old boy ended up in his care.
The Abuse That Biden's Release Policy Made Possible
On March 4, Maldonado-Erazo took his nephew to work.
The boy was in visible distress throughout the day.
He did nothing.
Someone eventually called 911.
First responders found a toddler in cardiac arrest.
Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons laid out what the autopsy found: at least 17 strikes to the head, a broken collarbone, multiple broken ribs with one detached completely from the spine, and a transected pancreas from blunt-force trauma.
There were intentional burn marks consistent with a heated lighter pressed against the skin.
The child also showed signs of possible sexual abuse.
Another child in the home told investigators Maldonado-Erazo would get drunk, get angry, and whip the children with a wire.
He was initially charged with negligent manslaughter.

As investigators pieced together the full picture, prosecutors upgraded it to first-degree felony murder.
He is now being held without bond. ICE filed a detainer the day after his arrest.
DHS Deputy Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis didn't equivocate: "The Biden administration should have never released this monster into our communities."
This Is What Catch and Release Actually Costs
Democrats spent four years telling you that catch and release was a reasonable policy for managing border overcrowding.
What they never mentioned was who they were releasing and what those people would do next.
The House Judiciary Committee documented that the Biden administration was carrying out final deportation orders for just one out of every 26 illegal aliens it released.
One in 26.
ICE attorneys were directed to dismiss tens of thousands of immigration court cases – 84,000 in a single fiscal year.
Under Secretary Mayorkas, the release rate at the border climbed above 85 percent by his own admission.
Maldonado-Erazo isn't a tragic exception.
He's a predictable result.
The House Homeland Security Committee documented the same mechanics after Jocelyn Nungaray's murder in Houston – two Venezuelan nationals, both released into the country, both placed on electronic monitoring, both removed from that program before they abducted and killed a 12-year-old girl.

Before that, Jose Ibarra – released on parole after an illegal border crossing – beat Laken Riley to death on a Georgia jogging trail.
Every single one of them was here because the Biden administration chose to let them stay.
ICE Director Todd Lyons said what needed to be said: the boy died when his mother abandoned him to a violent illegal alien who never should have been in this country in the first place.
There's no softening this. Biden's team knew they couldn't vet people at that volume – their own Border Patrol officials said as much under oath.
They knew illegal aliens with removal orders were staying in the country.
They did it anyway, millions of times, for four years.
A three-year-old American citizen in Cantonment, Florida, is dead because of those choices.
He had 17 strikes to the head and burn marks on his face.
He weighed maybe 35 pounds. He couldn't defend himself.
Biden's open border didn't just cost taxpayers.
It cost that little boy everything he had.
