Over the last few years, several major corporations in America have adopted the Left’s woke ideology.
Walt Disney is the latest company to go full-on woke.
But a new survey shows Disney’s executives made a huge mistake by picking a fight with Ron DeSantis over parental rights.
After Ron DeSantis declared 2022 the “Year of the Parent” in Florida, he quickly got to work following through on his commitment.
DeSantis banned the teaching of Critical Race Theory in Florida and also gave parents the ability to sue school districts who violated the law by teaching the woke ideology to their children.
But when the state legislature sent the Parental Rights in Education Bill to Ron DeSantis’ desk, all hell broke loose on the Left.
Even though the bill simply prohibits the teaching of gender and sexuality to children in kindergarten through third grade, the Democrats and members of the Fake News Media misnamed it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill and demanded Ron DeSantis refuse to sign it into law.
When DeSantis pledged his support for the legislation, woke executives at Disney intervened and attempted to use their power and status to strong-arm the Governor into dropping his support.
Since Disney is the biggest employer in the state of Florida, CEO Bob Chapek expected Ron DeSantis to quickly reverse course and veto the bill.
But that didn’t happen.
Instead, Ron DeSantis not only signed the bill into law, but went on the offensive against Disney’s support for the radical homosexual and transgender agenda.
At DeSantis’ request, the state legislature passed a bill revoking the special privileges Disney has enjoyed in Florida since 1967.
But this isn’t the only place where Disney took a hit.
Polls previously showed that the majority of Americans, including Democrats, support the Parental Rights in Education Bill.
According to new rankings from the annual Axios/Harris Poll 100, Disney’s reputation also took a significant hit after the company went full-on woke against Ron DeSantis.
“The 23rd Annual Corporate Reputation Rankings survey asked 33,096 Americans from March 11-April 3 to gauge companies in seven categories: trust, ethics, growth, products/service, citizenship, vision and culture,” the Washington Times reported.
The survey found that Disney’s reputation dropped significantly – from 37th last year to 65th this year – plummeting 28 spots from 2021.
This significant drop by Disney has caught the attention of other CEOs, who will now think twice before engaging in hot political debates.
And now, thanks to Ron DeSantis’ bold leadership, more Republican officials across the country are expected to follow the Florida Governor’s lead and stand up to the woke Left.
“The conservative majority of this country has remained silent for a while,” Andrew Crapuchettes, CEO of the job-site firm RedBalloon said. “Now that they have spoken up, companies like Netflix and Disney may become more centrist.”
