Every Democrat in America wants to take down Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
That’s leading to some major mistakes.
And one Democrat Mayor instantly regretted picking this huge fight with Ron DeSantis.
Ron DeSantis traveled to Staten Island, New York to speak to a local law enforcement group.
Courting police officers and establishing a tough on crime image in the minds of voters is central to what is obviously DeSantis’ plan to run for President in 2024.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams attacked DeSantis ahead of his visit spreading lies about how DeSantis wants to ban books, and liberal falsehoods about open borders, abortion, and the homosexual agenda.
“Welcome to NYC, @GovRonDeSantis, a place where we don’t ban books, discriminate against our LGBTQ+ neighbors, use asylum seekers as props, or let the government stand between a woman and health care,” Adams posted on social media.
“We’re happy to teach you something about values while you’re here,” Adams added.
Adams’ attacks are part of a plan by Democrats to try and smear DeSantis as some kind of weird, creepy, culture warrior should DeSantis win the Republican nomination.
The problem for Democrats is Ron DeSantis loves the idea of contrasting his successes in Florida with the Left’s woke agenda in deep blue states like New York.
“We’re doing it right in Florida, and my message is – if you’re disenchanted, if you don’t think things are gonna turn around wherever you are, not just in New York, wherever, just know that there’s a state that that’s doing it right,” DeSantis stated. “There’s a state that will value your service and more importantly than just someone like me going out there and doing it.”
DeSantis’ former spokeswoman Christina Pushaw body slammed Mayor Adams by noting that more people moved out of New York City in 2022 than any other metro area in the country and more Americans moved to Florida than any other state.
Nice rhetoric — but here’s reality: More Americans fled NYC than any other metro area last year.
More Americans moved to Florida than any other state.
You know this, Mayor Adams, and you’ve talked (accurately) about crime pushing people out of NYC. Florida’s crime rate… https://t.co/gHru8I12PS

Crime is a major reason New Yorkers fled the state.
DeSantis boasted that Florida’s crime rate plunged to a 50-year low where violent crime in New York City spiked 23 percent.
I visited Staten Island to talk about how law & order has been central to FL’s success.
FL leads the nation in protecting LEOs & our crime rate is at a 50-year low, while NYC saw a 23% surge in major crime in 2022.
Anti-police politicians should stop catering to the woke mob. pic.twitter.com/FpFDy0V4DZ

Eric Adams attacking DeSantis for this visit is exactly what DeSantis wanted.
Adams’ tweet will drive media coverage and force the media to report on the success of DeSantis’ conservative law and order agenda compared to Democrats’ pro-crime policies.
