One left-wing reporter lived to regret his seven-word response to Ron DeSantis after it cost him his job

Outside of Donald Trump, there is no other Republican who the media lies about more than Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Democrat activists in the press have called him just about every name under the sun over the past two years.

But one left-wing reporter lived to regret his seven-word response to Ron DeSantis after it cost him his job.

The radical Left is in a frenzy over Ron DeSantis taking a sledgehammer to their woke ideology in Florida.

DeSantis held a press conference recently where he showed some of the sexually-explicit material found in the children’s book he was removing from schools.

Some of the graphics were too vulgar to be shown on the news.

DeSantis’ office sent out a press release highlighting the event and vowing to expose the “diversity equity and inclusion scam in higher education.”

“These concepts are in no way inclusive, and instead force exclusion and division within higher education, and do not in any way contribute to learning or knowledge,” the press release from DeSantis’ office read. “As such, no funding from hardworking, tax-paying Floridians, including the parents of higher-education students, should be spent on these divisive initiatives.”

DeSantis’ press release apparently ruffled the feathers of Axios reporter Ben Montgomery and led to him firing off a response he now regrets sending.

“This is propaganda, not a press release,” Montgomery wrote in response to the press release.

After Florida Department of Education Communications Director Alex Lanfranconi received Montgomery’s reply, he posted a screenshot of it on Twitter and tagged Axios and Montgomery.

“This afternoon, Tampa based @axios journalist @gangrey decided to respond to our press release with the below,” he wrote.

Vanity Fair reporter Charlotte Klein reported on Wednesday that Axios fired Montgomery on Monday due to his reply to the Governor’s office.

And Sara Kehaulani Goo, editor in chief at Axios, put out a statement confirming Montgomery’s departure.

“This reporter is no longer with Axios,” she said. “Out of respect for our employees, we do not discuss conditions of departure.”

Since Axios requires all reporters to “maintain professionalism with all sources” and “respect and be civil to all people we have contact with,” many believe this is the reason Montgomery was released from the company.

Left-wing reporters have been going after DeSantis for two years.

Their attacks only make him stronger.

And as Ben Montgomery just learned, sometimes it means losing your job.
