One university in Florida handled the left-wing protesters with a move straight out of the movie Happy Gilmore

Massive protests against Israel’s war in Gaza are taking place on college campuses across the country.

The protesters are disrupting academic activity by putting up tents and camping on school property.

But one university in Florida handled the left-wing protesters with a move straight out of the movie Happy Gilmore.

Protests against the war in Gaza have broken out on college campuses in more than two dozen states.

But they are doing more than just peacefully protesting.

They are pitching tents and setting up encampments at some schools while occupying buildings and refusing to leave at others.

However, police have started arresting protesters in states like Utah, Arizona, Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia.

On Tuesday, protesters were arrested at Florida State University and at the University of Florida.

“Anyone who was arrested today made a conscious choice to engage in unlawful conduct,” FSU spokesperson Anna Prentiss wrote in an email. “The university’s rules and regulations had been explained repeatedly over several days and the group had been compliant until this afternoon,” she continued. “Today’s arrests occurred after the individuals ignored multiple requests and warnings to comply with a lawful order.”

But school officials tried using other options to get the protesters to leave before calling in the police.

And Florida State University tried using a trick straight out of the movie Happy Gilmore to force the protesters to pack up their tents and go home.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Governor Ron DeSantis pointed out how Florida State University turned the sprinklers on to get the protesters to leave.

“Look, there haven’t been that many in Florida,” DeSantis said. “It’s much smaller compared to these others, but when you go and you’re bringing a tent or something on like a campus lawn, you know what they did at Florida State and University of Florida, they turned the sprinklers on,” he continued. “So that’s just how it’s gonna be, but it’s about conduct and it’s about making sure you’re doing the code of conduct.”

In the movie Happy Gilmore, Shooter McGavin plays a trick on Happy by telling him to meet up at the 9th green at 9 P.M. to learn “a secret of the pros.”

However, 9 PM is when the sprinklers turn on at the 9th green, which led to Happy getting drenched in water instead of learning the “secret of the pros.”

But the sprinklers were not enough to get the protesters at Florida State to go home.

“You have a right to support or not support Israel, that’s the First Amendment,” DeSantis said. “You don’t have a right to pitch a tent in the middle of campus and commandeer some of the property.”

At least five people have been arrested so far at Florida State University and nine were arrested at the University of Florida.

“Florida State University cherishes and upholds freedom of speech and all the other rights we enjoy in this country,” said FSU spokesperson Prentiss, who continued. “However, the expression of these rights must comply with university regulations and the law.”

Ron DeSantis vowed to make Florida a law and order state.

And the protesters are finding out that he means business.
