Pro-abortion radicals are furious over the petition Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody just filed in court

The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn ‘Roe v. Wade’ last year sent the issue of abortion back to the individual states.

Officials in the DeSantis administration are taking advantage of the decision to protect innocent life in Florida.

But pro-abortion radicals are furious over the petition Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody just filed in court.

Last June, in a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court overturned the disastrous 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that federally mandated abortion-on-demand in America.

The decision left the issue of abortion up to the individual states.

Ron DeSantis is pro-life and he praised the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

“Florida will continue to defend its recently-enacted pro-life reforms against state court challenges, will work to expand pro-life protections, and will stand for life by promoting adoption, foster care and child welfare,” DeSantis said at the time.

DeSantis previously signed a ban on abortions after 15-weeks in Florida and is now calling on the legislature to pass a law that prohibits abortion once a heartbeat is detected.

Now Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is helping DeSantis fight for pro-life issues on the legal front.

In 2016, the state legislature passed a bill prohibiting taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest provider of abortions.

A court enjoined the 2016 law because of the Roe v. Wade decision.

But Ashley Moody is now working to change that after the ‘Dobbs’ decision.

“In 2016, a district court prevented the Florida Legislature from defunding abortion clinics, based on the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Roe,” Moody said. “Now that the case at the center of the court’s reasoning has been overturned, we are petitioning the court to vacate the court’s injunction and allow the will of our state’s legislative body and the people who elected them to take effect.”

The court initially struck down the law because it “indirectly prohibited abortions, which under that ruling was a Constitutional right.”

However, Moody’s office is arguing that the Dobbs ruling clarified that there is no right to an abortion in the Constitution.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ office released a statement expressing his full support for Moody’s petition.

“The Office of Governor Ron DeSantis is fully behind this action from the Attorney General and we support this move to fully defund Planned Parenthood from any taxpayer support,” the Executive Office of the Governor said.

Abortion is a sacred right in the Democrat Party.

They oppose any restrictions on abortions and believe it should be available until and sometimes even after birth.

But Ron DeSantis is a conservative fighter.

And protecting innocent life is a key item on his agenda.
