Once again, the Fake News Media is the biggest source of misinformation on social media.
And once again, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is at the eye of the storm.
But now Ron DeSantis caught the Fake News Media red-handed spreading this big lie.
Last year, Ron DeSantis signed legislation requiring Florida colleges to conduct ideological diversity surveys.
All the law said was colleges and universities needed to conduct anonymous surveys of students and professors to report on the extent to which they felt free to express their political beliefs on campus.
“I think that having intellectual diversity is something that’s very, very important as we go forward,” Governor DeSantis explained at a bill signing ceremony at the time. “And I know a lot of parents, one of the things they worry about, if you send a kid to a university, are they just going to basically be indoctrinated? Or are they actually going to be taught to think for themselves, challenge assumptions, and really be critical thinkers and learners? We obviously want our universities to be focused on critical thinking, academic rigor. We do not want them as basically hotbeds for stale ideology.”
But suddenly, one year later, leftists began spreading a debunked lie that legislation required professors and students to register their political views with the government.
It started with left-wing horror author Stephen King.

But the Fake News Media quickly began parroting this viral misinformation.
USA Today domestic security correspondent Josh Meyer also spread the lie.
This seems like it should be getting more media coverage:

Even the left-wing Politifact debunked this lie in 2021, a point DeSantis spokesman Bryan Griffin made in a statement to Fox News.
“No, students and faculty are not required to ‘register their political views,'” Griffin stated. “This same fake claim was circling the liberal Twittersphere after the bill was signed in 2021. It was debunked then. It has been debunked again, now.”
“The viewpoint diversity surveys are anonymous, voluntary and no personal information is collected by them at all – only feedback on the intellectual freedom of the campus environment, which is what the survey was designed to determine,” Griffin added.
One reason polls show record-low trust in the corporate-controlled media is that deranged and unhinged left-wing partisans regularly lie about conservatives like Ron DeSantis in hopes of advancing their preferred political narrative.
