Ron DeSantis crushed Democrats when this hoax collapsed in shocking fashion

Jul 10, 2024

Ron DeSantis has been subjected to countless smear campaigns by Democrats and their media allies.

But these attacks collapse under the weight of facts.

And Ron DeSantis crushed Democrats when this hoax collapsed in shocking fashion.

Gun control advocates predict a bloodbath after constitutional carry

The constitutional carry movement has swept across the country over the past decade.

Constitutional carry is the principle that if a citizen can legally own a firearm, they should not need a government permission slip in the form of a permit to exercise their concealed carry rights.

Now there are 29 constitutional carry states across the country after the hard work of gun rights groups and activists.

The anti-gun lobby follows the same script every time a new constitutional carry law is signed.

Predictions of doom and gloom roll in because law-abiding gun owners no longer need a concealed carry permit.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a constitutional carry bill into law last year.

And he faced the same predictions of rising crime and a bloodbath on the streets of the Sunshine State.

Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, a Florida Senior Advisor for the gun control organization Giffords’, predicted her state would be less safe because of the law.

“This is a dark day for Florida. Our children and communities are going to be less safe because Governor DeSantis is in the pocket of the gun lobby. We know that permitless carry laws lead to an increase in gun violence. We will hold Governor DeSantis accountable for his egregious actions,” Mucarsel-Powell ranted.

She added that constitutional carry put “criminals above our children.”

Murders drop in Florida after the passage of constitutional carry

Constitutional carry has been on the books for a year in Florida.

And the opposite of what the gun control lobby predicted came true.

The number of murders have dropped in major cities in Florida like Jacksonville, Miami, and Orlando.

Jacksonville saw murders decrease by 31% from the same time last year and are on track to be at their lowest level since 2011.

The predicted bloodbath never came, and the city is now safer that residents can exercise their concealed carry rights without a government permission slip.

Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters credited the drop in murders to the city getting tough on repeat offenders.

Jean Francis, of Moms Demand Action, said gun violence would rise in Florida after constitutional carry passed.

“States that have lax gun safety laws have the highest incidence of gun violence, and Florida is moving in that direction,” Francis said in 2023. “. . . laws like permitless carry just support and entice criminals and make law enforcement’s job riskier. They do not promote responsible gun ownership or make the community safer.”

Now that murders are down in Jacksonville, she is scrambling to come up with an explanation.

“More resources to law enforcement, a lower jobless rate and community-wide awareness of the issue may all be factors,” Francis said. “Although I do not have statistics or evidence, it seems that more perpetrators are being arrested and convicted quickly.”

The anti-gun crowd predicted Florida would be less safe after constitutional carry.

Now the Sunshine State is proving the old adage more guns, less crime true.
